View Full Version : Fair Price on a PS2?

A guy that works with me is looking to buy a PS2. I happen to have one that I wouldn't mind selling. I just want some people to weigh in on what a fair deal is. As I really don't want to "rake over the coals" someone I know and work with, but at the same time want to get a fair deal for myself.

My system is a plain black PS2, with 2 black dualshock controllers, and a Sony black Memory card. Nothing at all special about any of it. All hookups. And even the box if he wants it. No games. Everything is in excellent shape, even cosmetically, and honestly I've used the system more for watching DVD movies than gaming by far.

Thanks.

I would agree with Nez that $120 sounds fare maybe a little lower like $110.

Depends on how much you like this co-worker LOL

I'd say with 2 controllers and a memory card $100 US is fair if its clean. Make sure to add that it works fine for you but sold as is that way he won't come back a few months later and complain that it broke or he dosen't like it etc.

Right now you can get a used PS2 at ebgames for $99, so if you are throwing in a memory card then $120 sounds about right to me.

Thanks for the help. You all came in with the number I had in my head as well. I just didn't want to give him a price and have him give me a weird, "you must be insane" look. I feel much better giving a price with the backup of some people who think the same.

Hmmm......This is hard.....30 bucks?

Honestly I hate Sony. I admit to owning a PS2 but after a year or two... :bullshit:

But seriously.....110 bucks seems fair to me...If he includes the MC and the controller..

I'd go with $25.00. With how likely it will probably break down on me, not play games etc. I wouldn't pay much for there crappy hardware.

What series is it...

Yeah buying a used PS2 is a huge risk... never know when those things are going to go finicky and not play a certain type of disc. Madden 2005 is a double-density disc and the 30000 and 39000 series' are having large problems with it... currently Sony is replacing the readers for free (minus shipping) on them.

$100 is a fair deal, to to much on him and good on yourself so you can buy some other cool stuff

Doesn't gamestop buy these for $100?

You've got an extra controller and a memory card, I would say $120 is about right.
