PSO GC, my MAG has has a photon charge for a long time but I can't seem to be able to use it.. how do you get it to fire?

If I remember correctly from the DC version, hold down your right trigger and press the corresponding button. It should be the same for the GCN version. You can also map these buttons to other attacks, spells, and items just like the regular menu (attack, med. attack, and monomate)

See that little circle in the upper left? It turns yellow and the numeric indicator in the middle goes from 1 to 100. When it hits 100, you can use the photon blast.
2 things.
1) Photon blasts are automatically linked to your R-shift keys. So if you use your R-shift keys for ordinary exercises, be prepared to fuck up and accidentally 'blow your load'.
2) You gain photon energy by getting hit, and a little less so by hitting other things. But if you go back to Pioneer II for a shopping trip, it gets reset to 1 automatically.
Hope this helps!
Let's play tomorrow night (after Buffy).

I haven't checked this with GC version but there was a little bug in DC version that when your PB reaches 100, and then you pipe to Pioneer 2, you still retain the PB attack even though the indicator is reset to 0. An expert could take advantage of this, build up the PB meter to near 100, use the PB attack from earlier and then use another one quickly when the PB reaches 100. A double attack could wipe out some bosses.
