The "MAX PLAY Classic games Vol1" compilation for gamecube is now also avaiable at liksang.I heard that some of you where a bit afraid to order it from codejunkies or wanted to wait for a US-release.
well,I'm pleased to tell you that this compílation is REGION FREE;means it plays on Pal,NTSC(Asia) and NTSC(US) without freeloader or mod!
It's also very cheap (7.90 bucks) for an upcoming cube-Megararity.

I read somewhere(can't remember where sorry) that it pretty rocks.Although it uses cell-shading graphics it plays and looks really 2Dish.
I already ordered mine cause my thirst for (cube-)fighters is heavy.
Also the charakters look beautifuly weird and sick.

GameCube is a very underated console for imports....My GC collected dust untill I bought the Gundam edition

Yeah, it PLAYS, but in black and white.

EDIT: I do recommend it if you're into bad games, though. These are some of the worst I've ever played.

I'm looking at GCN import myself, there's a crazy puzzle game, Momotaro something something somethign... trains/mario party/monopoly hybrid with evil spirits and flying poo. Hilarious, but japanese text intensive. Naruto isn't too bad either.

bahhh yea I seen that, it looks interesting enough, i've only been able to find a few bits on it in english, but the one dude with a poo lump for a head is..umm interesting -.o

Naruto 2 was a fun import, though honestly, it pales in comparison to other party fighters like Powerstone 2, or Smash Bros Melee. Still, it's a good diversion if you and some friends have an hour to kill, and simple enough anyone can pick it up.

The same could be said for TV World Fighters, which I think is the better game :P

It might be region free but it's still coded towards PAL output (which means as said, a black and white picture on NTSC only TVs).

the gameplay is the worst of any fighter to date!
What other fighter just uses "normal attack" and ONE special move?
not even the "videogames superstars"-bonus rescued the game.

The Naruto games on GCN are good fighters, which arent as good as super smash bro or powerstone, but the Naruto version ps2 is outstanding

If you use a freeloader it will work in color. It is coded towards PAL but is still region free. Hope that helps. So without a free loader it will play in black and white, with a freeloader though you get the full effect.

I don't know about that... I have a freeloader, but the Max Play is still black and white on my TV.

Tried using all boot methods? Sometimes the Z button one will jump start the picture into NTSC (because it should output what the Cube is setup for).
