Yeah, I know, took me long enough. But I finally got it. Why didn't anybody tell me there were goat-children? I woulda bought it on the first day if I had known there were goat-children. LOL

A couple things:

Please, PLEASE tell me there's some way to shut this obnoxious widescreen mode off.

Is there any way to take the food items off of the O button? I keep accidently eating them.

Yep. There's Goat Children! Great game. Very unique. I still want it to be a trilogy like they promised.

WideScreen is not turn-offable. And it's better for it. It gives the game more of a cinematic feeling and a better peripheral vision. But is annoying for people with puny miniscule TV screens. I have a 23" and it's fine.

As for the Eating. Just switch to another item. I assume you have the PS2 one? I have the Cube one myself. The game rocks.

I really Enjoyed playing this game.

I got it fro the XBox new for $20.00 and played it start to finish.

This is one of those games I would not mind playing through a second time..

Actually, I did end up doing that. Only because the first time I made a mistake. I got to the final part, final save point, and was unprepared for the battle. With no way to get back to the planet and no dispenser with any food, I was stuck with 4 hearts for the boss. I Erased the game and started over. This time I did it right.

Let that be a lesson. STOCK UP YOUR FOOD! DO NOT GO TO THE MOON WITHOUT A TON OF FOOD! The more food you have, the easier it'll be to beat the game. And the boss is a hell of a fighter.

And the boss is a hell of a fighter

Oh yes...I remember that......You need a lot of food.

I think I kept losing over and over and almost put the game away.
Took a break then beat the boss.

I actually finished this game, that's how good it was :)

I wouldn't mind going through it again, this time doing it as fast as I can so that I can get a higher score on the internet rankings. Have you ever gone to the website and put your internet code in? I believe one of the hearts or something like that is only obtainable that way.

When I first saw the game Beyond Good and Evil, I thought--I hoped it was some sort of Nietzsche reference. When I finally got the game and realized it wasn't I thought it would be disapointing but the game kicked so much ass that I fell in love with it... and for $5 how could I have gone wrong?

The whole experience caused an ironicle realization regarding my gaming prejudice/philosophy, "Things of the highest value must have another, seperate of their own,--they cannot be derived from this ephemeral, seductive, deceptive, lowly world, from this mad chaos of confusion and desire."-Nietzsche
That which attracted me to the game in the first place risked clouding my positive conception of it.

Somebody shot us up th-*(SMACK)*

Yeah, here's a game that I'll eventually be picking up. I need a couple good next-gen games to mess around with; the MD/Genesis library isn't exactly wearing thin, but I like my new games, too, and I haven't played one in months.

Thanks for the info. Guess I'll just have to get used to th widescreen. Bah. I'm so picky about sight. Heck, I still prefer 2D over 3D because I feel like I can see better.

What I love about game discussions is how many perfectly sane things are said that would make an evesdropper blink a few times, then slowly back away.

Well.. It seems Goat Children is the biggest seller of this game now.

Hell, Ubi should have put out a huge campaign revolving around them! "Beyond Good and Evil... It's got GOAT CHILDREN!"

It would have sold a MILLION in a month! LOL

Man, I like "Revenge Lobster", because of the obscure Furi Kuri song reference, but "Reggae Rinoceros" would also be a kickass FOXHOUND name.

The pig man is the best though kicks some serious ass. Its a damn good game I raced throught it in about a week. It's a cheep game and entertainment wise I'd say its worth alot more then what you'l pay for it.

I'm reviving this thread because this game is great, and I think we should discuss it some more. I started it around 5:00 a.m. on Saturday, and now, I'm up to the stealth area after Pey'j gets kidnapped. Right now, it's getting more of my play time than Fable and Katamari Damacy. It definitely deserves a sequel!

My game of last year, no question.

My game of last year, no question.

I second that. The game was kind of short, and that's my only gripe. The production value on this game was so high, and you can see it was labor of love game-wise. A shame we'll never see a sequel.

excellent game, it was the only game besides windwaker during the last year that made me play from start to end without taking a break for some days

Makes you wonder what the original game was like. They were some 85% complete and I think something happened or got released and bombed, and they changed a fair bit of the game to account for this. Have to do my research again as I forget precisely what, it is mentioned somewhere.
