Midway Giveaway.

Not sure if you guys were aware of this, but the midway booth that was promoting the "Midway arcade treasures 2" they were giving away free copies of "Midway arcade treasures 1" when I got there they had gamecube and PS2 versions left. The PS2 one says in red print PROMOTIONAL COPY NOT FOR RESELL on it. But the gamecube one looks like one you could buy at the store.

There was a midway booth??? Damn....I would have liked a free copy of a game, although I hear that the emulation in that game is sub-par.

Well, I missed the Midway giveaway, but I already have the XBox version anyway. BTW, the emulation is excellent. It's the lack of proper controls that hinders some of the titles, but just some. I've written an indepth review if anyone's interested.

What I DID get for free was the JakksPacific Atari Paddle. Now THAT was cool. I asked about buying one on day 1 and they said they couldn't sell any until day 2. I come back today with cash in hand and they tell me they aren't selling them, but they will being just giving them away at the end of the show. I got the 2 player version that retails for close to 30 bucks at Wal-Mart. I paid 25 for a weekend pass. I recouped my money! :D

BTW, it was really cool to watch when he started to give all the stuff away. They pretty much all disappeared within 5 minutes.

I was trying out MAT2 when the girl behind the booth asked me if I owned MAT1, and I said I had it on both X-Box and GameCube. "Not on PS2?" Sorry I said, missed that one. "Well you should have a free copy!" She reaches behind the desk and hands me the "NFS" MAT1 for PS2.

Very nice girl, very nice booth. For all the bad hype about Midway looking down on classic gamers, I certainly saw none of that attitude at CGE. I even met the programmer who added the voices for Wizard or Wor to MAT2 (and from the demo I must say it sounds great) - I'm hyped about the release!

Wow, you're llucky you got that because it went fast. I managed to get the single paddle game and the Ms Pacman game from Jakks Pacific. From Midway I picked up both the Gemecube and XBox versions of MAC since I already had the PS2 one.

I snagged the Xbox and GC ones...if I'd known the PS2 one was a NFR one, I'd have got that too....those girls were super-cool!
