Tales of Phantasia and Keyboard Control

Tales of Phantasia is indeed a fine SNES RPG. A minor query, if I may...

I reached the point in the game where I have been able to purchase the Combo Command item, but after equipping it I'm finding it impossible to pull off combos. I can only conclude that my keyboard (and also my old four-button Gravis) lack the necessary presicion; I have yet to test my Thrustmaster Rage3D.

Before I go completely nuts, may I ask if anyone has succeeded in performing combos using keyboard control in this game? (I know I could just download one of the ZSNES keyboard macro files from somewhere, but where's the fun in that?)

I've never played Tales myself. As long as there not any more complicated than Street Fighter moves save the Super Comboes and SPDs you should be able to do them. You'll have to somewhat change and or your timing to be able to do them somewhat consistantly.

Merde. Even with my Rage3D, I still can't pull the combos off consistently. And the premade ZSNES CMB file mentioned in the Combo Command FAQ (http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/snes/game/9450.html) seems to be MIA.

Oh well, guess I'll have to make my own...
