Your favorite character names

So many great names for so many great characters. What be some of your faves?

Alien Soldier has a lot of great ones. Take, for example, "Sniper Honeyviper." Madame Barbar is the moniker of a giant crab. Xi-Tiger is a huge blue tiger, as the name might suggest, Sunset Sting describes a giant mutant flower, and Bugmax is that of a vicious butterfly. Nothing, however, beats the pimp wolf with a machine gun arm riding a mechanical horse. It is known as Wolfgunblood Garopa. Seriously.

I also like the deliciously evil name that Ys 3 has for one of its antagonists. You must fear the wrath of CHESTER!

Lessee... we can't forget such Punch-Out gems as Glass Joe, Don Flamenco, Bald Bull, and good ol' Soda Popinski, who was Vodka Drunkenski in the arcade Super Punch-Out.

To top it all off, I don't know why, but I just think that Strider Hiryu is such a badass title for such a badass hero. I'm talking about Strider, of course. I might go back and add some more later, but what are some of your favorite character names?

Sounds a lot like a character from Mischief Makers (Yuke Yuke Trouble Makers by a different name).

Ugh....you LIKE the name Alucard? You realize it's just Dracula backwards, right? I hate that horribly uncreative trend, and you find it in games more than anything else. Anyone played Chrono Cross and met "Grobyc" the cyborg? God, take a little time and imagination and come up with a GOOD name.

My favorite name, and I'm sure someone's going to come out and get pissed at me for saying this, but my absolute favorite name in any game is probably Amarant from Final Fantasy IX. Now, Amarant is a pretty cool name to begin with, but thing get even cooler if, the second time you play the game, you decide to have some fun and name him something like "Homo".

Nothing beats the looks on the faces of your friends whe he introduces himself. "Greetings. I am known as The Flaming Homo". ....and later on, a line similar to "...some call me The Flaming Homo". Ah, good times.

Chaos Legion has some cool names like Seig Warheit and Delacriox (i can't remember his last name, does he have one?) I also think that Evolution Worlds has some of the worst like Mag Launcher and Linear.

Ah hell, I remember seeing a link a while back with the most ridiculous video game characters names ever... lets see if I can find it again...

Ack! It was a 1up.com articles, and it doesn't seem to exist on their site anymore (Or if it does, I can't seem to find it... their site is like something threw an atom bomb full of flash into a pile of elephant dung). Closest I can give is this page on Slashdot (http://games.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=03/10/11/019250&tid=202&tid=127&tid=10).

Rocket Billy Redcadillac is a kick-ass name. Sol Bad-Guy from Guilty Gear, and Cyber Peacock from Mega Man X4 (I *think* it was X4 anyways) always make me laugh too. Hell, half the Final Fantasy characters have stupid names... Cloud? Squall? Does Square just pick random nouns out of the dictionary?
