Can some one tell me what these carts are? (genesis)

At my local EBGames, there are several genesis carts in the used game bin. They all look like this (but not this exact game)

I've had my genesis a while and i've never seen games in that shape before. When I inquired, some lady there said that some old genesis games used to look like that. I don't entirely believe her, so I'm asking you guys. Anything special about genesis cartridges shaped like that? If not, why the different shape? Thanks in advance.

It's a regular Genesis game.

Certain companies, like the EA carts for example, have cases that are different than the typical "Genesis" style cartridge.

Other than the case, no difference.

Yeah I think Combat Cars kinda looks like that as well. It's normal.

Thats a standard Codemasters cart.

The only other kind they had is one that is the same shape but includes two extra controller port on the front.

Yeah, Genesis had some different cart shapes. Their was one (i think it was Pete Sampras Tennis) that had controller ports on the cart.

there is a link to a pic of the pete sampras cart...i never saw a genny game with controller ports on it...pretty crazy

Thanks for the answers. I happened to stop by EBGames today and I picked one of them up anyways, heh. So, I guess its just another addition to my Genesis collection...

Right on, that's never a bad thing ;D. I want many more genesis carts but I've been to every store in town. Probably gonna start in on swap meets soon.
