32x and Genesis question

I have an original model genesis (I think) Its the Gen. with the headphone jack and volume controll...Anywho if I would buy a 32x would it work with this model or do I need to find a newer model?

So long as you have the proper cables, it should work fine (and sit on the Genesis nicely, too). I think the way it works is for a model 1 Genesis, you need an extra cable (the conversion cable) for it to work over the model 2 Genesis. If you're using a model 2 Genesis, it's good (though not necessary) to have a plastic spacer so that it sits on your system nicely. Here's a reference taken from www.vidgame.net.

Awesome thanks for the info. Yesterday I was at Multimedia 1.0 and had some money and was thinking about picking up the 32x and a few games but I wasnt sure if it would work with my model Genesis. Looks like next time I see one ill have to pick it up.

If your gonna buy one make sure it has all the cables or you'll have to improvise (messy) or buy them (expensive). Make sure you get cosmic carnage too :P

The 32x was in the original box and had all the cables. It was 30 dollars. But then I had another question. What games should i get for it?

Get every game you have for it because you're a collector! :)

All I have is Virtua Racing Deluxe for it at the moment and I should be getting Star Wars Arcade for it sometime soon.

Yea I was looking at the Star Wars,doom, umm I cant remember what other games they had that caught my eye

Well, I always enjoyed the 32x Doom (shh, don't tell anyone). Space Harrier for 32x is just about perfect as far as I know, and you should pick up Knuckles Chaotix if you like Sonic, just for the novelty factor

You MUST get Virtua Fighter for the 32x. It's awesome. Blackthorne is great, too. Afterburner is simple but fun. Both Baseball games are good if you like sports.

32X has a great version of Space Harrier, and Knuckles Chaotix is fantastic.

I got a CIB 32X from a forum member and it indeed came with everything needed to install it on both a Model 1 and a Model 2 Genny.
