In the September issue of Spin there's an interesting article on the rising trend of bands that play music based-on or sampling retro videogames. Check it out.
(It's also the best issue of Spin in ages as it has a huge write up on the Pixies and a few pages on the Cannabis Cup).

Was just reading that, actually. I haven't heard that Mr. Bungle track in years, they should have put a version on an EP or something...

You know, I remember seeing on GSN about a band which plays game music and their favorite was the Legend of Zelda theme...it "can" be interesting, but too repetitive to play on a regular basis. I donno, it would probably be cool listening to some music sampled like those found in F-Zero 64 or Garou: Mark of the Wolves or so, they rock! :rocker:
