According to Hollywood Reporter, a Bloodrayne movie begins filming soon this month in Romania. Bloodrayne will be played by Kristanna Loken, best-known for her role as the female cyborg in Terminator 3. Also in the cast: Ben Kingsley, Michelle Rodriguez, Matt Davis and Michael Madsen. The director is Uwe Boll who gave us House of the Dead last year.

Uh oh... x_x

The cast is okay, but the director makes me worry. :hmm:

Hope it will turn out allright. There are other movies based off games coming out soon, right?

Guinevere Turner is the writer of the movie...she wrote a couple other movies including Go Fish, American Psycho and the upcoming The Ballad of Bettie Page...so that might be a decent sign.

resident evil 2 comes out september 10th. My buddies and I are planning to see it opening day, so hopefully it won't suck TOO hard.

I liked the plot of the game... a movie would be cool I think. A litt wierd but cool.

I can't wait for the Max Payne movie (if its still coming out) that will be freaking awsome. I can just watch threw that game is someone plays threw it smoothly.

I'm not sure I'd heard of that one. But what of others I have heard of...

Crazy Taxi--Announced but nothing really since...Queen Latifah was said to be in it...

Dead Or Alive--No more info...I'd like to know who's playing the girls, though...

Metroid--Listed at the IMDB for a 2006 release but no further information available. Maybe Angelina Jolie can star? Kidding! :D

I heard she'll be in the Oct Playboy- assuming it'll be animated or something.

That's probably unrelated to the movie...I hope...

In my haste to post I failed to see it's already been addressed/discussed farther down the list...

Are you sure you're not confusing that with the movie "Taxi"?

As a general rule and axiom,

Video Game movies = bad
Movie video games = bad

therefore

Video Game movie = Movie video games = bad

As a GENERAL rule. Spider Man 2 rocked. :) RIght now I'd vote for that as one of the best games of the year.

And I have seen some video game movies that are good -- I happen to like Final Fantasy, Resident Evil, the first Tomb Raider, and the first Mortal Kombat.

I dunno...spyhunter is being directed by john woo and starring ....tada...the rock. Alone in the dark also being directed by uwe boll starting christian slater and tara reid will be out soon.

Anywho...bloodrayne HAS potential to be a good movie..but after watching house of the dead i dunno....although that scene where it took them 20 minutes of the movie to walk about 30 feet to the cabin was pretty hilarious...those matrix moves they were pulling on zombies had me on the ground crying ROFL

Uwe also has the movie rights for Dungeon Siege. The few times that I've talked to him, he's really seemed interested in making the "Game to Movie" thing work. After all he's done "House of the Dead", "Alone in the Dark" and now "BloodRayne" with "Dungeon Siege" sometime after that. I can say That he wanted to make DS a trilogy though I don't know if he will pull that off...

This is really his third atempt at the genre and purhaps he will actually pull it off this time.

House of the Dead[/b] last year.

If House Of The Dead is any indication, I will be staying away, very very very far away.

You may have liked the FF movie, but the vast majority of people (including myself) thought it was one of the worst movies of that year or any year. Tomb Raider gets a B for effort, but the Resident Evil and Mortal Kombat - I mean, Jean Claude Van Damme's worst movie was better than those.

Oh, and it appears she'll be making her "naked" debut in Playboy as well..

I wonder if they'll make her have dick nipples. -_-

Now if Laura Heeb (quoted in the article linked to above) appeared in Playboy, that'd something to see...if it's the same person pictured in past issues of Game Informer. GI editor Andy McNamara always seems to be in the same photo too...
