How exactly do you save scores on this game? I've been having some trouble getting my scores all in the memory card. And I just finished my greatest achievement on it: roughly 303,000 in Astrosmash (is that really good? I played for around an hour to get it), AND IT DIDN'T SAVE!!!

As a rule, I refuse to play Intellivision emulation. sorry.

I would have picked up the real thing at CGE, but by the time I found one priced where I could afford it I didn't have enough cash. Plus, this is my first time playing ANYthing Intellivision, so it may as well be legal and inexpensive.
Gonna have to find a console now, and Astrosmash...
I had the PS version, & the only decent game on there was Hover Force. I hated everything else. Never tried the PS2 version, but I dont want to find out either.

The Inty cannot be emulated properly.

I agree, the Xbox verison was confusing as hell with those controls

Yeah, using consoles that have number pads are emulated horribly. I wish I can buy myself another intellivision, but like some places are charging a littlr too much for it.

Heck, even on PC it just feels "weird". It also seems since Blue Sky Rangers switched to an ActiveX setup the sound and timing seem off.
@RetroYoungen: it's a really great system. After playing the demo collection that had Space Spartans I really missed my Intv collection I sold off a few years ago. So now I too am off combing the Net and the pavement for a decent INTV with some of my fave games.

What, you don't like pressing left, R2, select and hopping on one foot to push the "9" button on the emulated keypad?

@ YoshiM and RetroYoungen:
I have some spare Intys boys and a mountain full of games if you wanna try and get setup with the real deal.
I'd much rather trade than sell, so if you folks have trade lists, send em my way and we'll see if we can set something up.
Thanks

I played the XBox version for the first time at CGE. Am I crazy, or is the fish not able to dash in Shark! Shark!
And did the sound suck too? Because it seemed like it.

Never was a dash in Shark Shark.
I was at the intellivision programmers talk at CGE last Sunday and the one guy explained how they understood die-hard classic gamers were unhappy about game quality and games left out on the recent console and stand-alone compilations. But he said the important point was that these releases brought in enough money to do more games in the future. Think he mentioned a $10,000 cost to get the Burgertime liscense. So wait and see, I guess.

I'm gonna +1 this too:
If you guys clean out ghsqb, I've got 4 spares and enough commons to make it cheap (trade or sale-wise) for anyone wanting a Inty 1.

Never was a dash in Shark Shark.
Okay fine, "dart." From the instructions:
Press any Key number to DART at TOP SPEED...as when chasing a smaller fish or escaping from a bigger one!
I distinctly remember being able to do this on the original Intellivision Lives! for PC.

Really? I'll have to try this. Thought the intv controller had that issue where doing two actions at once gets read as a third action by the console

I have to concour, the console emulation sucked.
I mean, everything "worked", but I'm sure they could have mapped the keypad controlls ALOT better, and the sound DID suck.
I was playing Space spartans, and I could NOT turn on repairs. And if you've ever played that game and had your impulse drive destroyed, you'll know your dead meat unless you can get it repaired.
Heck, only 1 shoulder button was being used for the game. Really, how hard is it to make one of the other shoulder buttons turn on repairs?!

As far as your score.....it is a decent beginning...but nothing special. Decent because it didn't take you TOO long. Once you get over 1 million then you're cookin'. :) Although, you have to sit for at least two and a half hours to even get into the high hundreds of thousands, so don't hold your breath. (I too refuse to play anything Inty in emulation. The way I figure it, if my hand isn't cramped to hell by the time I'm done playing....I haven't been playing inty. Usually my ability to keep sitting prevents me from going higher in score than I already do. Good Luck! :D

Wow, this thread has already lasted longer than I thought it would!
@DS: Thanks for soiling my dreams of ever being a great Astrosmash player. :( LOL I figured hey, it was my fourth time playing, if that's good for a n00b13 then I'm happy. :)
@Sanrio & ghsqb: Thanks for the offer, but I have to pass at the moment. I have only a handful of commons for trade, and I'm too busy trying to save up my cash for a new laptop. I guess I'll have to settle with the handful of games I can easily (albeit a bit clunkily) work with on the Inty CD, like Hearts and Astrosmash. :(

My mother sold mine at a garage sale.
That first song creeped me out...sounds like Norman Bates/Buffalo Bill singing.
"My mother spanked my with my Intellivision...she rubbed lotion on it's skin or else it got the hose again....I want my Intellivision....She's a good girl mother...she doesn't deserve to die...how I miss the round disc....and how I like to sleep with it....and then My mother sold mine at a garage sale to one of those fat chicks...yes precious...then I stabbed her in the shower."
@_@ eep!
