Yeah, Dragon Force was for the Saturn. I have it but have never been really able to get into it. Just not my cup of tea. :(

Woh!
So is that PS2 a complete remake or just a port?
Cause there's already the PS collection coming out (came out?) for PS2, plus the PS collection that's been out for a while on the GBA. How is that GBA PS collection, btw?

I like it. It's a shame that they left out Phantasy Star IV and some of the other early Phantasy Star games. Still, having 1, 2, and 3 on a single cart for a portable system is very nice.

I've seen that release date mirrored from a couple other retailers for the 'trilogy'. From the screenshots I saw months ago, it looks to be a remake of at least PS1. Graphics were going up in quality to more of a late-generation 16-bit title. Didn't see any screenshots of the other games though, so they could just end up ported.
Fine with me, though. So long as PS4 finally gets a rerelease.

PSiv is going to be coming to the Sega Ages series. PSIII, will not. III was sort of a bastard red-headed stepchild of the series (and a bit of an embarrassment to fans and the developers)...originally was not even intended to be a PS game. Not that it's not an OK game, just not that great and hardly progressed the PS story line.

Phantasy Star IV already happened. Maybe you mean Phantasy Star: The End of the Millennium will never come to the US (I've got two copies in my room)?
LOL
Erm...alright.
I'd like to see Blue Almanac in the 2500 remakes collection, and Thunderforce 2, for good measure. I don't think either is strictly a first party Sega game (at least they weren't developed at Sega), but one can always hope, eh? :P

no really, i can't believe the ignorance from part of sega.
Dragon force is really kewl, kinda like and strategy rpg but with a very good changing history, but psiv, it's like their best game out there, i don't know why not bring it to america, i have played that game like 15 times already (not continous)and i never grow tired of it. It has a great story, great music (gotta love that sky castle remix, and the biolab music is also great, the lutz requiem), but why is sega only porting what they want? if the gba phantasy star collection would have included I, II and IV, they would have a history there, but ps III is kinda uhm, boring really, it is good, but you only play it once or twice, tops.
Uhm, if someones confused don't pay too much attention, english ain't my first languaje.
Edit: ah sorry, i meant a remake. SEGA BRING A REMAKE OF PSIV TO AMERICA!! (in english please).

Source?
The game wasn't developed by the team that did PSII, that's certain; what happened is what I guess happened to Light Crusader and Castlevania II - the game started out with a really sweeping design but ultimately they didn't manage to pull through. The idea behind PSIII sounds more like a Tactics Ogre, Suikoden or maybe even a Koei game than a Phantasy Star title, but the majority seems to think it failed pretty spectacularly. One thing's for sure: nobody on the dev team had much fun making the game!

It's a good collection of games for under 20 bucks. Just make sure you save often in ps1 cause theirs a saving bug.

What saving bug?
If you play GBA Phantasy Star 1 for any amount of time.. you will find that sometimes when you save, the game will freeze up (if I remember correctly). So it's a crapshoot. What happens is you're forced to save constantly because nothing sucks more than playing for a long period of time and and having your game crash when saving it. It becomes better to save as often as possible knowing already that it will crash eventually and thereby just minimizing your losses.
And let me just say... MMMMM... DRAGON FORCE :D

The saving bug has something to do with the looping music. I think if you catch it RIGHT as it's looping, the game will crash.

Yeah that had me confused too, last I heard Sony was giving Sega Ages grief about trying to release the remakes as indiviual games in the US. I'll consider myself lucky if we see the remake of PS1 much less IV.

? Why would you do that? Or do you just mean that you'd rather play it on the sms vs. the GBA port. :)
In that case don't even bother with the GBA port because although I know you said "if that ever happens to me" let me just say if you play the GBA version I can guarantee... it WILL happen to you :P I can't believe they made that game go through with such a blatant bug
Speaking of which that's not the only bug.. there's another one where if you happen to talk to a monster, then your status windows won't leave the screen when you go back to the overhead sequences.. it really is a good example of bad QA. O_O
p.s. This just kind of reminded me... Am I mistaken or do I remember spending about 100 bucks for Phantasy Star for the SMS when it was new back in the 80's? Anyone else who bought the game then remember paying that much? :?

Who here actually paid the $100 retail for PS IV?
*sheepishly raises hand*
ahhhhhhh it was worht it. Wonderful game.
And I'm one of the few PS3 supporters :) The magic system was innovative. The generational thing was AWESOME and I'm really surprised I haven't seen a game try to do it again. Combat was sucky tho and the story was only mediocre.
And all those damn empty buildings lol
