I hope nobody posted this thread yet.

I got a mint complete copy of Pikmin for GameCube yesterday at work for $11.99. We also had a non-PH copy of Knights of the Old Republic for the same price, but I couldn't remember whether that game shipped with bugs on the first printing or not.

EB Games
Interact GameCube memory card - $5.39
Nuclear Strike (PS1, complete) - $2.79

Today's yard sale run was embarrassing. Yesterday was slightly better. Now, I just need to find an Intellivision, but it's not high on my priority list.

Yard Sales

Las Vegas Poker and Blackjack, Major League Baseball, Space Hawk(Intellivision, all boxed) - $3
Frogger (might be 2600 or Colecovision, boxed) - $1
NES 4-Player Strategy Guide - 25 cents
Kiki's Delivery Service (VHS) - $1
Home Alone (VHS) - 25 cents
What Dreams May Come (VHS) - 25 cents
Man on the Moon (VHS) - 25 cents
No Doubt - Tragic Kingdom (CD) - 75 cents
the first Fiona Apple CD - 75 cents

Oh, yeah - I forgot to add that I got a copy of last month's Tips & Tricks and the Burnout 3 PS2 demo for free.

I passed up a Saturn with all hookups and two controllers with no games for $30 (was this a mistake I hope I'm not kicking myself later) anyway thats all for today.

decent find today considering how this summer's gone for me, a box full of VCS games for $2 total, some notables include Mr. Do, Towering Inferno, Adventure (finally! I've never owned this game before), some of the classice Activision titles like Ice Hockey, Carnival, Donkey Kong, Space Shuttle... not too bad for a couple bucks

also picked up loose copies of 7th guest and 11th hour for PC. Mmmm, more fodder for my hunt 'n peck article. Better play and beat both today.

Working Playstation2 Console. Cost: Cheap as Free :D

A good friend of mine had a PS2 that couldn't load a game for squat. Had been like that for six weeks and was way out of warranty. Knowing about the common PS2 disc read problems, I told him it was probably the laser and that I could probably replace it for him if he ponied up for the parts. Instead he decided to buy a new PS2 bundle (lucky to find one these days) from CostCo and gave me the old one, muttering that if I could fix it then I was welcome to it.

Well it turns out the laser itself was good and all that needed to be done was to clean and lube the laser guide gear, and an alcohol swab across the laser lens for good measure, and that sucker came right back to life. I'd never opened up a PS2 before so I was pretty proud of myself for figuring this all out.

I feel a little guilty about this, but not too guilty. I did after all offer to help my buddy for free and he declined. Also he now has a whole new warranty on a new system so I think I'll sleep okay tonight....after playing some Soul Calibur II.

At one yard sale we picked up a complete boxed NES. She said she wasn't sure if anyone wanted it because she couldn't find any of the games. She asked if $5.00 would be ok. "Well...I guess so." Heh. It wasn't even part of the sale according to them. It was just sitting there in some far off corner of the garage. She said she would look for the games today, and give me a call when she finds.

At another yard sale, we found a huge box of Nintendo parts and accesories for. The box contained 4 NES controllers, an NES Max, and NES Advantage, 2 grey Zapper guns, a red Zapper gun, an RF adapter, 2 power adapters, and 2 SNES controllers. All that for a grand total of $2.00.

Oh and for the record, I've not seen and NES with a box look and play this well since 1987. Everything boots up nice and smoothly everytime. I tell ya', it brought a tear to my eye.

Ok that's good I don't really want one right now and $30 was a little steep for me so I think I'll live.

Damn. My dad went back to the yard sale to see if she found the games.
The girl said she couldn't find them. She said she felf bad about that and promptly gave my dad the $5.00 back. He said she wouldn't take no for an answer. Then I felt bad becuase hell, I would've paid $10 just for the pristine box alone.
But today, I got an NES that looks like it was pulled from a time machine for the low price of $0.00!

At the Flea Today.....Spent $26.00 in total..

Super Clean NES Top Loader with one controller .RF /ac adapter ..$15.00...(he gave me the sticker-less controller for free)

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v21/Chris1/2004_0828_Top.jpg

The Top Loader was on a table in a box with 15 common NES games for $35.00..he had a regular NES for $15.00 with 5 games and a shopping bag with about 40 Boxed Genesis games...and 6 boxed Sega Master System games.

I just grabbed the Top Loader talking him down from $25.00 to $15.00.
He was offered $25.00 for it earlier as he said but wanted to only sell it all for $35.00..still worth it....But I know him and I'm a good talker.
To be honest I didn't bring much money and was going through the Flea market fast...I had other things to do..
I really didn't expect to find a Top Loader at a flea market..My other came from other sources..(this Top loader was coming home with me)

I would of bought everything he had ..and re-sold most of it if I had more time to haggle for a price for everything.
(It was to freaken HOT today)

SNES $10.00
The SNES came with all the wires in a big pile...4 controllers 2 SNES AC adapters..1 Genesis AC Adapter/to misc Ac adapters../Master System RF switch/Misc wires.
The good thing is I'll use the extra SNES stuff for a Bare SNES unit I have and throw both of them up on EBay..

The woman vendor knows me and told me to just pay her next week for the SNES since she didn't know if it was complete..(all the wires etc were in a big mess)
I'm not complaining...It pays to know people..

I'm keeping the Top Loader but two SNES systems are going up on EBay..

I just passed up everything else I saw today..Hit 4 Garage sales on my travels and all I saw was GARBAGE!!!

I must add these to my previously listed entry:

At EB, I got a complete copy of X-Men Mutant Academy for PS1 plus a free used Sony PS1 memory card using the coupon in last month's GMR magazine. They had just gotten a copy of Parappa for PS1, but the manual was gutted. If I can find a manual with all the pages this week, it's mine...

I also found a sealed box of "PlayStation 2 - Only $149.99" buttons in the GameCrazy dumpster and copies of Scooby-Doo and Star Wars: Episode II on DVD at the MovieTime dumpster. At this time, I still don't know if they work.

Then, on the way home from the yard sales yesterday, I noticed that there was a flea market about three blocks from my house. A kid was selling his PS2 collection with no manuals for $5 except for Twisted Metal: Black that he wanted $10 for and a PSone with no controller for $20. I bought Gadget Racers for PS2. If anybody has a manual for this game, PM me.

Finally, my review copy of Catwoman will probably get traded in at FYE for $25 store credit later today before the sale price becomes the regular price. I will probably get KOTOR and Champions of Norrath used with my employee discount! :-P
