...after mine there were at least 250 more machines to be sold off besides the ones i listed above.....sorry i couldnt get the rest of the prices, but the building was like 95 degrees and we just wanted to get Super Mario Bros. Pinball and Vigilante and just leave

Every time there's an arcade auction here in Toronto, the gutted stuff goes for ~100$ and the semi decent pinballs go for 1200$+ !!!!

WOW!

I love that pinball machine you got! Can you post a picture of the playfield?

I think I found my holly grail!

Alot of those machines had perfect moniters in them and were going ultra cheap. I would have picked one up but screen burn doesnt bother me unless it affects the game. I guess that was just a reward for staying in a building that was 150 degrees. :P

yea, that building was ungodly hot.....but, it was worth it
if it is at NJ next year, im going back....either to get working games, or buy some cheap $10 cabs to get spare monitors, buttons, and joysticks from

Doesn't matter, it would still be a working 19" vector monitor. Those babies ain't cheap.

ClubNinja, seeing the potential availability of cheap vector games makes me think a couple of us local boys should head on down to an upcoming auction. NJ is only about 5 hours away...

Let's do it. Rent up a big truck and go on a road trip. Eva would love it, too ;)

Too bad there aren't anymore this year...

I don't have much spare cash probably throughout the fall anyway. Renting a truck is the big problem there, though. It's usually a bit of a pain to find a place willing to give you enough default miles to go to NJ and back. I've done it a few times... usually you wind up having to pay extra for a "miles pack", but it's better than the usual $.50/mile or whatever you pay if you go over your default allotment (usually 100-150). If we were to split the cost a couple ways a truck would definitely be worth it. We'll have to resurrect this idea in the spring.

What I've done (from VA to NJ) is rented a cheap car to drive to the rental truck place, taken the car back, then driven the truck to the pick up location, then drove that back home. That way, I had unlimited miles on both vehicles, and only paid one way for both vehicles (the car was $30, the truck was $150). That was the cheapest way to do it for me at the time... of course you need 2 people, and it would have been about $20 cheaper if I got the right size truck (I got a 15 ft. truck for 8 arcade games, I used only about 5 ft. of the truck :P ).

I always figure on games being 2 1/2' by 2 1'2 foot simply for planning. My dad's trailer is like 6'6" wide and I can never get 3 games across. If I get 3 I always end up stacking them in an L configuration.
