Not all gaming stories occur in front of the television. In fact, many of the best ones take place "outside the box", quite literally! In Extended Play (http://www.digitpress.com/columns/extendedplay.htm), Rob "Flack" O'Hara tells us his tales where gaming meets real life, and vice versa. This quarterly feature column has been updated today, if videogaming is an extension of your real life, you owe it to yourself to check it out, right HERE (http://www.digitpress.com/columns/extendedplay.htm).

Your feedback, as always, is appreciated :)

Great article. I can only hope my stuff finds as good a home when I'm pushing up daisies (hopefully not soon).

Awesome article Flack.

I think it is great what you are doing with Ed's collection.

Best article, ever! Strangely enough, sharing the first name and passion with the guy doesn't make me feel bad :)

Rob, that was very well written and very touching. Good luck in your mission to spread Ed's gift to the world :)

Thank you guys for your comments! I know this first one was kind of long, so thanks for sticking with it. Maybe the next one will just be a limerick or something to balance the two out. ;)

That was sweet, Rob. Seriously. It's very kind of you to help others like that and to use your judgement (and gratitude) in such a way that would honor a nother man's collection. Congrats, and good luck!

Awesome article and a heartwarming story, Rob! (Although the circumstances that brought the collection to you are unfortunate, to say the least...)

Reading this makes me more determined than ever to pick up a power supply and AV cable for my bare TI/99 and try it out. Then I gotta get Meteor Multiplication; used to love it back in 3rd grade... LOL

Get that thing up and running; I've got a Meteor Multiplication cart here with your name on it!

Great column, Rob!!! I particularly liked the part about Tony Hawk and the mall (that would make a great locale for a THUG level!!!).

When I first got Pokemon Blue( and subsequently discovered my obsession with collecting/gaming) I would hear Pokemon battle music even when I was awake and sober, loud and clear @_@ weird x_x

True story I had an awesome dream once where I was skateboarding in the mall, escaping from the cops. This was YEARS before Tony Hawk.

i sometimes dream and live through gaming thoughts as well. whether it be blocks falling, eating dots and getting chased by ghosts, or killing demonic puppets like in devil may cry.................maybe i shouldnt be thinking about that, but i do when im bored.

glad to see im not the only onn around.

Great read, had me smiling throughout.

I was half expecting you to put at the end that it was your wife going around buying all the goodies. She was convincing you to cut back on your buying impulses so she could get her hands on the loot!

I wouldn't put it past her -- she's probably getting all the goods just so I'll give up on the search!!
