View Full Version : Anyone going to CCAG? (October 23, 2004 - Cleveland, OH)
Looks like I'll be taking NUON-Dome and JagFest on the road to this year's CCAG. This will be my first year there, but with free tables and free admittance, I couldn't pass it up. Plus it's only 3 hours away for me, so that makes it the closest classic gaming show for me.
I should have some cool stuff to show off, like Mad Bodies and MightyFrog for the Jaguar by Force Design (still under development but nearing completion!), prototype NUON and Jag games and hardware, maybe even a nice big projector with the VLM running on it :)
http://www.ccagshow.com/ for the official show site or
http://www.nuon-dome.com/ndjagfest.html for info on the Jag and NUON stuff.
Hope to see you there!

I'm going too.
When I saw that a swap meet/convention was going to be in my actual state, I was estatic.
I started collecting stuff, in June, for the meet.

I'm thinking of going. How far is Cleveland from Detroit?
Has anyone been to these in the past? Is it mostly old computers or are there a lot of console stuff too? What is good stuff to bring to swap?

I've been to CCAG a couple of times in the past. Please keep in mind that it's a smaller, local meeting and will not be overflowing with vendors and rare goods like larger meetings. The ones I've been to, I didn't see so much as a Vectrex or Colecovision. Lotsa retro computer stuff though - C64, Atari 400 and up, etc. Not so much in the dedicated console department, though there was that there.
It was still a great time and I found some excellent deals both times. But I hope you don't have incredibly high expectations and are gonna leave disappointed.
Nope, no incredibly high expectations, just out to have a good time. I thought it'd be fun to go and take a table or 2 of Jaguar and NUON stuff and there seems to be a pretty good response from others in the area so it should be fun.
Hell the JagFest I hosted in 98 only brought in like 50 people and it was a blast so I don't need a show the scope of CGE to have a good time :)

I may - MAY - show up. But it'll be a whirlwind tour if I do. I have plans to hit the Superauction in Columbus that same day, so the round trip would be a beast.... x_x

I really wish that I could be going. I think that in many ways I prefer smaller events as it gives a better opportunity for just hanging out and gaming, which you don't get as much of out of bigger shows.
Unfortunately, it falls on the worst weekend of the year for me to actually make it places :( I will be sending some goodies from the GOAT Store for giveaways though. Please if you're going, take (and post!) lots of pics!

That's too bad, it would have been good to see you again, Dan. Don't worry, I plan on taking a bunch of pictures and all so be on the lookout :)

Any chance this could be moved to December sometime? I have relatives around there that I visit for Christmas. Ah well.

Just wondering if I could get a list of all DP member that are attending and also wondering if any of you will be setting up tables?
I will be there for sure.
I'll be wearing a blue and white checkered shirt with a Spider-Man button. I will be hanging with my friend at a table full of NES controllers and such.
Look for me off in the big secondary room full of Jaguar and NUON games :) I'll probably be sporting my Jaguar polo shirt and will have a JagFest name badge around my neck.

I was there for a few hours. I got some good stuff, had a fun time. Bought Bubble Bobble 2 from miaandjohnrule and some Tg-16 stuff from K3V. I had a good time. Also bought some stuff from the guy listed in the pics section as Pitfall Harry.

Thanks for the purchase - the TG stuff was pretty popular so I'm glad I brought it. I sold a system and all the games I had except for Power Golf.

Woah, I saw Bubble Bobble 2, and I saw who was selling it. Didn't realize it was someone from here. Did you buy it around the first 20 minutes of the show?
K3V: Where was your booth?

Thanks to spoon and everyone else who bought my stuff. Also thanks to K3V for the TG16 deals. You guys probably saw my wife at my table(with the top loader and the SNES set up) , I kept wandering away. (I had to browse at least!) I had two Bubble Bobble 2s for sale. I sold one to spoon early and the other was on hold for a prospective buyer.
