if your familiar with the Sega Master System, you'll remeber a game called Wonder Boy that was an exact copy of Adventure Isnad for the NES, The main character was changed but you can obviously see it was the same game....and it wasn't even once, everytime an Adventure Island game would come out it was mirrored onto a Sega Master System Game as Wonder Boy 2...3...4...whatever, and Hudson does not have its name on Wonder Boy so what's up with that?????

As explained in the DP guide, Hudson licensed the game from Westone.

Do a search. This has been discussed many times before.

Also Wonderboy 2 and 3 are NOTHING like Adventure Island 2 or 3. Very different games there. As for the first one. Sega was first.

In a nutshell, Westone wrote the game for Sega in the arcade but there was some dispute about home rights. So they licensed them to Hudson instead who made Adventure Island for the NES.
