Apperently my local Babagges doesn't sell SNES or gen carts anymore, but they still sell Nes carts and other systems (nes, psx, snes i think and DC supplies)!

I overheard the guy there say they don't sell them anymore, but still accept them...what's up with this?!

The SNES cart selection at my store wasn't the greatest..the Genesis selection was pretty good though. Debating getting Blaster Master for NES tommorrow on my break actually.

Slightly off topic: my local EB started carrying SNES and NES carts. Cool idea, but someone at EB headquarters thinks they can charge $11.50 for SMB 1.

Riiiight.

Having NES, and SNES games at my Software ETC. has been a mixed bag. on one hand I have gotten some really uncommon games like Big Nose for .99 cents but then they crank up the price on a lot fo cooler common stuff like DK Jr. for 9.99 and Gillagan's Island for 12.99.. they are just making up prices and they wonder why they have 20 copies of Dr. Mario and Tetris that can't sell (hello.. no one is going to pay 6.99 for Dragon Warrior 1)

Really? Do you know if all the EB's are going to start carrying them or is your store just one of those out there? :)

I guess I'll have to take a trip down to the EB here. I've been avoiding the place a bit and just ordering games online.

I really hope I can find out if they have those carts left- at least try to get one or 2 decent titles....

@hades: I dunno. The manager just said (with some tang of dislike in his voice-probably the idea of having to answer questions about those archaic games) that they are starting to carry them as a test market to see how it goes. The prices are kinda high (can't give examples at the moment) from what I've seen compared to say Funco or Software Etc. Extreme common NES games rang up for around $10.

The guy at my local Software etc. said they sent all their Genesis and SNES titles up to FuncoLand (aren't they all owned by one company?)
The don't want them any more there at Software, but the Gamecrazy still has them...hell they got a ton of Gamegears too!! :?

So they send off their Gen and SNES carts to Funcos, but keep Nes carts...why? I still find it kinda backwards that my babagges has DC controllers, VMUs and equipment, but no games also.

And Babagges and Funco are part of Gamestop Inc.

They do ship them off to Funco. This is because (from what's been explained to me by DMs, SMs, etc.) Is like this: malls are where the new, happening, trendy things are. Why would you put an NES game in where a new, trendy thing is? Mall stores are generally small so they don't have enough space to hold all that stuff, their selection of older games is paltry anyhow. Besides that, no one wants to lug all their NES, SNES games into a mall anyway. SO because they get so few in and mall stores don't make for the fastest moving market of said products. Which means, an $8 UPS shipment to Funco it is.
