So.

This hit today.

What's the word on the street? Worth a damn? Gamespot seemed to enjoy it, but I'm often wary of their reviews.

Who picked it up?

all gaming mags here in germany gave quite high rankings, like 91% in Maniac!

I really liked the first one and I'm looking forward to playing the sequel.

I picked it up last night and I've been playing all day. This is how to do a sequel, folks. Take out everything that was wrong with the first one, and improve it in every way possible. Go buy it now!!

I just got a used copy of the first Pikmin over the weekend and I haven't played that one yet.

First one was a great game for $20. I'll wait till around the same price for the second one.
The only thing that, frankly, makes me sad about the second one is the multiplayer CRAP that nintendo keeps shoveling into my mouth.

First final fantasy game I ever missed because of those stupid link cables, hopefully this one won't suffer too much due to my lack of friends ;)

Response to this one has been overwhelmingly good from the gaming media and personal experience. We got four copies into work today some time afternoon and when I left at 5 there was but one copy left. I'll probably pick the first up before I think about playing the sequel (which will give it time to drop in price...ain't it great?).

How I wish I had money at the moment. I loved the first game and the little flaws I didn't like have been fixed in the second (no stupid timer :) ) Hopefully I won't have to wait too long until I get this.

Just a heads up,

there are two cover variants of pikimin 2 out there...

check gamefaqs's pikmin 2's board

Hmmm, well I think there might be three covers, unless these ones I found online are mock ups.

1 is here:
http://www.gcadvanced.com/article.php?artid=3108
that is the best picture i can find of the so called 'lobster cover'

2 is here:
http://ebgames.com/ebx/product/235900.asp

and the weird thing is, my copy is of cover 2, BUT the big monster with the big eyes is not in the background on my copy. Plus it says on the bottom 'Another Masterpiece from SHIGERU MIYAMOTO creator of "The Legend of Zelda"'

My copy is canadian, so maybe there is another canadian variant cover, besides the usually french all over it.

Anyway, thats all I have to say.

I had been wondering about that... I saw the guide in an EB and it had the cover with that giant crawfish in the back, but the store's mock-up boxes had the "Pikmin standing on a tree branch" cover.

Yeah.

This game is greatness.

I will report on multi-player madness after the weekend.

I was going to rent it until I realized I could just buy it for $43 (employee price) play it for 2 months and sell it back for $25 and have spent $18 (3 weeks of rental) for 8 weeks of rental lol

I love it so far :)

Found it really weird that they give you the new pikmin before you get blue and yellow

I really like it, mainly because there's no time limit. I hated that about the first one. But it's a really good.. uh.. collecting game. I've only been playing it for 4 hours though, and already have 40% of my debt in the game cleared, so it seems pretty short, in the main game at least.

I picked it up last night, This game is amazing. Although I do find it a little creapy when your pikmin army start humming or singing what ever it is there doing. reminds me of the end of Nightmare on Elm st, when they drive past the kids jumping rope singing 1,2 fredys coming for you.
Ok I have problems

I've got ~4-5 hours and 50% of the debt paid off, and I must say, wow. It's very nice that there is no limit to the days, and I just now found out that you don't have to have all of your Pikmin back in the ship before sunset, so long as you have them under your command.

I don't like it when beetles un-build bridges... did they do that in the first one?

Oh, and I REALLY like that there are no bomb rocks in the game, as I always accidentally mis-used them :embarrassed:

This is one of my top 5 GCN games now. Wow.
