Here's some good news for folks who've been considering the purchase of a GBA SP, courtesy of Gamasutra.com:
Nintendo to Cut Game Boy Advance Price Worldwide
Officials at Nintendo today said the company is set to cut the price of the Game Boy Advance SP handheld console in multiple territories. Commencing on Wednesday, the new U.S. price point will be $79, reduced from $99, and similar cuts have been announced in Canada (from $139 CDN to $99 CDN), and in Japan (from 12,500 yen to 9,800 yen.)
Perrin Kaplan of Nintendo, announcing the price cut, commented that it was done simply "to maintain a stronghold" on the game handheld market, and was unrelated to the impending debut of the Nintendo DS handheld, which is due to launch worldwide in the next few months.

Now if only my local Best Buy still carried those original GBA + eReader packages (but who am I kidding...I have no money right now!) :P
