Gamefaqs summer contest character battle

Yeah, we all know how fanboyish it ALWAYS turns out being, but I still think it's fun to guess who will win on gamefaqs, even if I wouldn't agree with half the choices by a long shot.

I was doing pretty damn good this year, above average anyways, but I had kefka winning the whole 20XX bracket to go against crono in the semi's.

Problem being, he lost to stupid knuckles the echidna. Who woulda thought on the FF fanboy bandwagon that kefka would go down in the first round on a really weak bracket.

DK beating Vivi (stupid, stupid me :frustrated: )
Viewtiful Joe beating Tails
and Jak beating Ness

I also had Joe beating Dante in the second round x_x

Now, I dont agree that the characters that I chose are better than their opponents. I just put who I thought would win. (e.g. Ness>Jak in my opinion, but I put Jak anyways. Whoops.)

I guess I underestimated the power of the dying breed of true sonic fans. I thought the next-gen wave, of which there are so many at gamefaqs, would take Joe through.

Right, as I said, it's always pathetic, especially towards Final Fantasy, and I only check/vote once a week or so, but still something to do.

I had viewtiful beating tails, Kefka, as I said going VERY far (damn FF people let me down there) And I had Jak beating Ness (You KNOW most people who voted for ness had no clue who he is)

Alucard always gets his ass kicked, even though personally I would put him in the final four, I always mark him to lose.

While I was surprised by a number of charcters that got kicked in the first rounds, I'm still going with Link as the winner of it all. I still dont understand how Alucard, Kefka, and Donkey Kong lost. Guess my fanboy radar must be broke. As I'm only 22/32, it must.

I lost on DK vs. Vivi (DK has never been so weak before..damnit) Jill vs. Ryu hosed me too (look how damn close it was, link was posted above) and kefka vs. knuckles (again, damnit)

I could see DK winning over Vivi because Vivi was a fairly minor party member in a FF game, and DK is one of the more notable nintendo stars, and kefka is a beloved FF evil-doer and knuckles is just another sonic friend

Oh well, none of my losses I had winning again so I still have a chance maybe.

A BIG part of the DK battle, and the Kefka incident is because of the pictures they post in the voting. Kefka looks like a GODDAMN FAIRY CLOWN SUIT FREAK. And Vivi looks "cooler" than DK. Obviously in ANY real contest DK would beat the physical, mental, and gaming crap out of vivi.

I'm a little disappointed with how I'm doing this year. I'm doing about the same as I did last summer. I missed 4 in the first round. I was perfect up till Tidus vs. Shadow, I can't believe Vivi beat DK, I expected the popularity of Joe to push him past Tails (who couldn't even beat Yuna last summer), and like a complete dumbass I picked Gordon Freeman AGAIN this year after he's lost miserably every time before (I just don't know anything about Half-Life, or his recent opponents Max Payne and Sam Fisher).

Thankfully, the only character I picked to win a second time was Joe, and I picked him to lose after round 2, so I just have 2 more points that I know I will lose.

Really, my goal is to just make it on the top 50 list. I always come SO close, but because of lots of other people with my same score or a stupid mistake, I'm kept off of it.

Frog is from Chrono Trigger, good character. Anyways, I like the Master Chief, even though I think his game is overrated, I still like the character and the game, but, on the otherhand, Frog kicks ass.

Such a tough decision.
