We seem to be using different definitions of "week".

Uhh... hm.

I bought my PS2 on launch day and it's still alive and kickin'.

As for lawsuits, remember that you have to lose before they mean anything.

you got lucky
i have a freind who is on is third

i work at a game store
and about twice a day we get a call asking if we fix ps2's
they are junk

ps dude told me a funny story one
he had a playstation that he bought on launch day
it started destroying all his disks
he called sony and all they told him to do was to play his system upside down

That was last year http://www.consumeraffairs.com/news03/playstation.html ...welcome to 2004....Why do you think they came out with the new SCPH-50001? To slove their mistakes from the past!

Anyways, sorry to hear about your problem with Sony in the past, but let it go man, it's over now

Is there a
reason

why all your posts are
spaced something like
this?

is it a new style of
freeform poetry

perhaps
?

So anyway, back to the topic at hand:

What kind of games are you looking to play? These were the more major titles out over the past 2 weeks:

Star Ocean: Till the End of Time
Viewtiful Joe
Phantom Brave
SRS: Street Racing Syndicate
Nascar 2005: Chase for the Cup
The Guy Game
Street Fighter Anniversary Collection

I hate when fanboys come around here, they just bring bad vibes.

And really crappy new forms of poetry.

I agree! The PS2 Verison is soooo worth it! Finished the game with Dante last Sunday...what a weird ending!

But as for this Sony issue, I dont care what my system says Mircosoft, Nintendo, Sega, or Sony...as long as it delivers the goods man...I like my systems with good variety in titles and many genres

I confess that I am no good whatsoever at very recent releases because I am a complete cheap-o. I can, however, say that the Transformers PS2 game is a great game that just recently dropped to $20.

Go buy Disgaes right now, along with Mega Man Anniversary Collection. Also get Gitaroo-man and Suikoden II if you can find them. And If you haven't played the GCN version to death (like me) you owe it to yourself to buy Viewtiful Joe.

I'm a bit of a cheapy as well but if your lucky maybe you can find La Pucelle:Tactics for 20$ at a local Targets. Front Mission 4 looks good as well for 30$ though I hear alot of people say its to slow and the graphics are unimpresive.

I'm no sony fan, but neither am I a nintendo fan or microsoft fan. To date I have had a PS1, gameboy, dreamcast, and X-box go out on me. I have only owned my PS2 for around 6 months. To be honest, this is the first I have seen of anyone saying they have had their PS2 sense launch and had it keep working on them. I can only belive either you are lieing or take emaculant care of your systems. No offense intended but just listing posibilities.

I dont see how its so hard to believe. My PS1 was bought when they first put them in the red box and changed the laser to the right side(scph-5501-94005) in 1997, and it still works perfectly. Just take care of ya shit thats all.

I recommend waiting for Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas coming out in sometime in October.

If you like RPGs (and don't want them to all be Final Fantasy clones), get Star Ocean 3. It has a less-than-stellar localization (part of the reason why I'm sticking with my Japanese version for the time being), but you shouldn't know the difference while playing unless you have experience with the Japanese release.

R-Type Final. Enough unlockables to last you your life.

And La pucelle are good choices.

But good god I cant wait for the new Metal Gear. I'm like that woman in the Mervans comercial.

Pick up Disgaea/La Pucelle/Phantom Brave for a great strategy rpg experience.

It's older than a month but I recommend Champions of Norrath. It's RPGish w/ lots of action & tons of items to collect, w/ multiplayer on/offline. If you like Diablo & Baldur's Gate, it's your thing, plus it's half price ($25) now.

BTW, my Launch Day PS2 is still chugging along fine too. So there.
