Sorry if this has been discussed.... i jsut found this cool portable nes which you can buy now for £40...

GTA - a backlit TFT screen with contrast control, volume control, TV out, PSU input, built in joypad and ports for 2 more - all you could ask for - use it as a portable or as a home console connected to the TV.

I had one briefly, my suggestion to you is to avoid it. Playing NES games on the GBA is a lot less of a hassle through flash carts and emulation.
Problems I experienced with the unit was the display was garbled with every game (NES or Famicom) that I tried on it even after rigerous cleaning, and the yellow bridge adaptor isn't very stable.

What, for the GBA flash carts? There's an Sega Master System/Game Gear emulator out there with decent sound, and a TG-16 emu that still needs some tweaking. Not to mention the demo and independant development community that revolves around it.

It just plays Famicom carts.
I disagree with the stability comments. Surprisenly, this unit has very good stability. I NEVER have trouble with my unit freezing up on me, when I am playing NES games. Besides that, it has good battery life of around 10+ hours on three AA batteries. Nice...

NOTE: i've tried neither but:
with a gba flash cart, you could load up many games on it. i believe you could mix and match gba games, nes games, etc. on one...not sure. hell, i figure you'd be able to transfer jpeg's and mp3's with it as well as it's just portable storage (someone correct me if i'm wrong)
however, i am told that given the difference of resolution of the gba screen and nes games, you either lose some screen space at the top and bottom, or "squish" it vertically. perhaps the gta doesn't have this problem.
the gba+flash cart has got to be a hell of a lot more portable than the gta+adaptor+nes game...and if you weren't worried about portability, why would you consider either?
personally, i'd go with the gba flash cart. alot more to do with it, even tho you'll be playing roms, which is kinda a downote. again, i've never tried either one, so if i'm wrong, someone please correct me.
The GTA is backlit as well, which makes it nice for dark rooms.

If the Game Theory Admiral uses the same NES on a Chip that modern Famiclones use, then I can guarantee that it will have crap sound.

I do have a Flash Cart already.... LOL im just what you could call "a handheld whore" anythink handheld i love!

I got one for dirt cheap and I was surprised (in a good way) of it's quality. I found it much more stable than the assembly of a GTA-Famicom+Famicom-NES+NES cart shows out.
Yes the sound was pretty bad and the resfresh rate isn't perfect but it's an interesting piece for the price nonetheless.

Sound does suck, though. Either way, I am not disappointed, other than that mine did not come with JOYSTICKS or headphones or anything like that :(
