I've been looking for a 1581 Drive for my C64 for a little while, so I did a search on completed auctions to see what they go for. I found this one:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=74945&item=5116132466&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW
Then I searched for current auctions:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5121297688&fromMakeTrack=true
Hey.. that looks kinda familar.
So I shot him an email:
I was considering bidding on this item, but I noticed that the picture in your auction matches one that has already ended by someone else exactly (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=74945&item=5116132466&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW) ... do you have a real picture of the item?
Brian
I'm sure I'll receive an email with much cussing in it.

you'll probably just get a reply that says that the item looks like that, but he didnt have a camera to take a pic....and, then, if you won and received it in the mail it would probably be all dirty, marked up, and scratched up

Geez, everyone's such a pessimist.
Why is it so hard to imagine that he may not own a digital camera?

Because it's easy to get burned on eBay?

I'm guessing you didn't look at the auction.
"CHECK THE ACTUAL PIC BELOW!!!"
Actual pic? But yet it was an actual pic for another person's auction...
Hmmmm...

No camera here. I take my pics from amazon.com cause if it looks the same, why not?

I'm confused on why someone *wouldn't* get upset.
If a seller said (like this one did) "Here is an actual picture of the item" and it turns out to be a picture from a completed auction a few weeks ago, wouldn't you be, oh I don't know, suspicious?
Oh well, I managed to pick up a drive from another seller :)

I haven't gotten a reply... for some reason, I don't believe I'm going to either :)

I hate it when they don't post pics of the actual item they're selling too. And I really hate the new stock photo option. That was a very bad idea.
But worse yet is when they don't even post a pic of the item at all. I've gotten some real bargains because of that, but I still hate taking the risk.

Ditto, "Manual has some wear" means a dog chewed up the cover

Recently, I've found a lot of people are stealing my descriptions and pictures
One women even directly linked to my picture of an item I sold, on MY webspace using MY bandwidth, and copied MY description!!
I emailed her and asked her not to do it again, of course she was abusive and asked me what I was having a "fanny fit" over
I delved into her recently sold and bought items... seems she was a nice little shill bidder... reported her... now both accounts banned
Proud of it.

Should have replaced it with two guys doin anal. That'd teach her.
