I know there are 772 games on the NES, but does anyone know EXACTLY how many lisenced games there are for NES. Thanks

Probably around 700. Why don't you just find lists of all the unlicensed released nes games and subtract that from 772?

By my count there were Nintendo released 678 licensed Games for the Nintendo Entertainment System in the United States from 1985 to 1994. Some of these became part of multi-carts (Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt; Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt/World Class Track Meet; Super Spike V'Ball/Nintendo World Cup, Sesame Street ABC/123; Donkey Kong Classics.) Some were games that were re-released without anything more than a graphical change or two ((Tengen) Pac-Man/(Namco) Pac-Man, Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!!/Punch-Out!!) Other games were re-released with different boxes and labels (The Legend of Zelda, Zelda II: The Adventure of Link, Metroid, Blades of Steel.) But in terms of unique software (bug-fixes excepted), 678 is a reliable number.

Tengen Pac-man and Namco Pac-man are two veeeeeeery different games. Try playing them sometime before you assume they are just the same.

Nintendo claims that there are 632 Licensed games.
And considering that they are the Licenser...

Nintendo is borderline retarded as far as what they post on their own site about their own systems. Half the licensed N64 rental only carts aren't shown on their lists. I show 677 counting the three Tengen licensed carts.

What was different between Tengen and Namco's pac-man? I know Ms. PacMan was different, but that, I don't know.
