The closing on my dad's old house is on wednesday, and theres a vintage pinball machine from the late 50's early 60's in the basement that NEEDS TO BE REMOVED! I cant take it home here as we have no room for it. I asked my dad which machine it is and hes not sure, just knows its vintage and worked when he turned it on. The house is in Elmont, New York (by the belmont race track) and tomorrow my dad and his brother are going there to clean our the remaining stuff that needs to be thrown out.

If you think you want this pinball machine you need to be at the house TOMORROW morning as my dad (and maybe me) will be there around 10:00 but we are not too sure how long we will be there until, maybe 12:00 or 1:00 not exactly sure. But please, do not come unless you are POSITIVE you can make it there on time, and live somewhere near the area so that you do not get there late or anything.

Now I really cant do this on first come first serve basis so what im going to do is have whoever is SURELY postive that they can pick this machine up by tomorrow leave me a PM (please i cannot stress enough, if you are not entirely interested or not sure if you can pick it up DO NOT send me a PM!) and include where you live, and exactly what time you will be there to pick it up. If you are a person who mainly collects pinball machines I will also take that into consideration. Out of the PM's I get I will choose the one I think will be the best one for the pick up.

Please be advised this machine is very heavy and you will need your own means of transportation for it. Once again this pinball machine is free, so send me your PM's and ill choose who gets to pick it up.

(I can provide the person I pick w/ my phone number if desired for any questions)

I will be checking my PM's throughout tonight up until about 2:00 or 3:00 AM, I will contact the person tonight (if you leave me your phone number and dont mind a late phone call) or early tomorrow morning. This is all split second stuff so please bear w/ me! (Ill be back later im going to watch a movie)

ARGH! I live in Albany. I just looked up Elmont on MapQuest and I guess it's 2 hours, 49 minutes away from me. I WISH I COULD GO GET THIS! But it's too long of a drive for tomorrow, especially on such short notice.
I'll call my cousin for ya, because it sounds like you really need to get rid of this. But I doubt he'll go pick it up :o . Good luck with it.

Even if I started driving right now, I still would not make it on time. Location, Location, Location is also a good term to use when collecting videogames...

I know I am sorry about the short notice, but I always heard my dad saying "we can just sell it in the pennysaver" or "we can throw it out" or "willie (brother in law) might know someone that wants it". So all in all I thought that we were getting rid of it awhile ago but tonight I heard him on the phone and it was STILL in the basement w/ no1 that wanted it so I thought to myself, why not ask my fellow DP members if they want it? No PM's yet, sorry about the short notice.... I wish I could have posted this earlier!
BTW thank you to whoever stickied my thread, appreciate it!

OK no PM's yet, im going to bed now, ill try and check my cpu in the morning when I get up, and if no PM's still I will give the adress of the house out on here ONLY IF we put the machine out on the street for any1 to pick up (so its really first come first serve at this point). Id rather see it go to a DP member than to a dump!
If you PM me leave your cell phone number (better than home phone) and I will try my best to contact you.
But if not be sure to check here later tomorrow for the adress to your free pinball machine!

I went to the house today and it was a lady luck pinball machine in fair condition (a little rusting on front, glass top cover a bit unclear). Goblin was unable to pick it up so we ended up taking it in a van to put it out infront of my uncles house for any1 to pick up. Sorry I didnt post this earlier guys, but thanks for your interest in it!
(thanks for the sticky kristine, you can let this topic fall to the bottomless pit of doom now)

Holy Shit..

I was just about to write this in my game play thread here.

.................................................. ........................

I didn't play anything today.. :o

I played Soccer in the park with the kids today.. My Son etc.

Then spoke on the phone with my dad for 5 hours..

We had a lot to talk about..catching up on things.

He wants a Pinball Machine..So I'm going to either locate one for him or take him to an Auction.

You know who will be playing this machine right..? ;)

...............

Good Luck to whoever gets it.

goblin...you fool

No. Not a fool, it just didn't work out. I sent a message that morning along with my cell phone number. I figured it was too late, and went about my business. I thought if I still had a shot at it I'd get a phone call. No use wasting the day hitting refresh on my machine waiting for a reply.

I was disappointed to see 2 messages when I got home that afternoon, but I never got a call so I didn't know I still had a shot at it. Anyone else who might have wasted their day waiting around their PC for a reply is the real fool. I've got a life, if it worked out great, if not oh well. There is more to life than games, more people on this board need to learn that.

I have a home version Elton John Captain Fantastic that my wife would like me to get rid of...

if anyone is in the area...

and might trade me something(s) for it...

you would need to pick it up of course!

I actually just fixed a few things on it and it's playable but has a glitch I can't fix -- it will tilt every time a certain bumper is hit (you can remove the relay switch easily so it doesn't tilt though; that's what I do!). It needs a couple of replacement lights (which are really cheap on ebay) and a new ball would be nice (this one is the original).

I got this about 25 years ago when I was a kid .

I don't think it's worth much, but it is fun to play.
