Gamefaqs.com tells me that this game came out in 1997 for the Saturn and in 2000 for the Dreamcast. Can anybody here tell me whether the Dreamcast version is better than the Saturn version? I think I'd like to pick up one or the other, and if they're the same, then it doesn't matter to me which one I get.

No slow down in the Dreamcast version, but the Saturn version has a whole bunch of fun extras.....I'd reccomend getting that one.

So, WS, you're recommending the SS version over the DC. You said there's no slowdown in the DC version, which begs the question: How bad is the slowdown in the SS version? Not bad enough to make it crappy, I guess, or you wouldn't recommend it. (As opposed to, say, SS House of the Dead--or is that just missed frames?)

I just saw a copy of SS TSS on ebay. It ended this morning with no bids on a minimum opening of $79.99. Seemed a bit rich for my blood, but is that par for the course? And how much does / should the DC version run?

So is anybody going to tell me what is a fair price for Twinkle Star Sprites? DC or SS?

If you're otaku, I'd say go with the Saturn version.

If you're just looking to play the best possible version of the game, go DC.

If the modes on the DC version are anything to go by, the Saturn version has a typical amount of slowdown for a game that age, while the DC version has no slowdown at all.

Saturn is going to be expensive. $80 seems in the ball park.

DC is much cheaper. I got mine new for $50. I still see it going for about as much these days.

And yes, this game is tits.

Thanks, Cap'n. I see that the SS version is available at Wolfgames (and ebay, where a bidding war is going with three days left  ), but I can't seem to find the DC version online. Besides Wolfgames and ebay, I've checked NCSX, Videogamedepot, HimeyaSoft, and ToysNJoys. I know that I must be forgetting a load of other online import shops that might carry it. ???

The DC version is harder to come by but less in demand. I got mine new from video game depot. That was a while ago thought. I see them every now and again on eBay. I guess all I can tell you is to keep checking and be sure to pick one up when you do find it. Mark my words, whe people really start collecting DC, this one is going to go up in price. There aren't that many out there.

This site (http://www.goldenshop.com.hk/AI-trad/Dreamcast_htm/d_gamejan00.htm) has the DC version for $27, but a number of things make me wonder if it's on the level.

I've always wanted to try out Twinkle Star Sprites myself, so I'll be looking for it as well.

Is it the hyper-detailed payment page that tells you to make out money orders and wire transfers to an individual, rather than a company? I suppose that seems a bit odd. Or is it other things? I guess you haven't ever done business with this place. Has anybody else here?
