Go. Now. Download demo. It's like the Ikaruga of Robotron. I'm amazed that in the past 1.5 years I've owned the game that nobody's pointed it out here. Heh.

Seriously, you must. I never bother buying shareware games. But I bought this one pretty much the same day I tried the demo. It kept me from going insane from boredom while sitting in the hospital for a couple weeks. He he.

Useful tips: turn down some of the graphic detail options. It makes it much easier to see what's going on. Kill the background detail, and possibly turn down the particles if necessary. Sure, it looks pretty with everything turned way up, but if you're getting smoked every 10 seconds... ;-)

I just finished downloading it, am about to try it now. As impressive as iot looks, doubt I'll purchase it. $19.99 seems asking a lot for a mere download.

You must be a newcomer to PC games. ;)

This is the way it operates, and why the PC is home to all of the new and original ideas these days. Two people can hammer out a game during their free time, post it online, have a demo for free and charge for a full version, and ask several good online publications to review it. Whamo, publicity, reviews, downloads, money. All for very little expense.

I bought Singles from Eidos a week ago. $30 for the full download, and I don't regret it one it.

After all, what's the difference between buying a game in a store and downloading it? It's the same thing when we debated the future of console CD games. Give it ten years, everyone will pay a fee, download their games and burn their own copies.

I'm not new to PC games in the least.

Having played the game, although it's fun, I still don't feel it's worth $19.99.

Oh, it is. The demo doesn't show you the madness of the levels up past 70 or so. And also the many different skill variations for each level. There's also apparently a mission editor now too. I downloaded a few sets, and the kumiko levels get completely insane.

Singles is kind of like a adult version of the Sims, with some new stuff thrown into the mix. You roommate with someone in a apartment and see how they get along. I never cared for Sims much, but this one holds my attention. The free demo lets you play a hour.
