That picture is about equal to shit. Even for it being factory sealed, I couldn't see it selling that high.

I just hope that none of the damn scalpers selling sealed Chrono Triggers for $600 get any ideas from this auction. If they do, SNES collectors will be even more screwed! This is the kind of crap that's ruining the hobby for everyone.

Hey everyone,
Just out of interest, have any of you seen a snes box/package sealed?? i know some sellers go on about how the console it's self is sealed (which sounds like BS to me!)
Or on a few auctions, i'v seen ebayers try and say the snes packages were never sealed, so the box is open anyways!!... (Oh but the seller has never had alook inside! hhmmmm  )
And NO! i'd never spend that much on a snes, if the box was sealed and you could trust the guy i might go to $200 but that would be pushing it!!...

Snes packages are never sealed. You can easily keep the packaging, and put it back in after use, and claim it is new.

Yeah, that's part of what makes the price of this one so outrageous. If I had a spare SNES lying around that hadn't turned into cornbread yet, I could do the exact same thing, but it would take a little work. A trip to the auto parts store for a bottle of new car smell spray to perfume all of the contents with, a pair of gloves to insure that there's no prints on anything while it's all being thoroughly cleaned, and very careful machine-like packaging of everything to get it all packed in there just like factory fresh to complete the false illusion.
Alot more trouble than it's worth, if you ask me, but obviously this apparent scammer thinks that his trouble is worth $500. It could be someone who's actually had it just lying around for the last 10 years, and maybe it really has never been opened, but who's gonna be foolish enough to take a chance on it for $500? I'm with Predatorxs, I wouldn't go higher than $200 for it, if I really wanted it, and that would be pushing it quite a bit. It's just too easy to pass off a mint condition system as a new one, but as long as it's mint, it's still worth alot. I'd just be afraid that it's not even in mint condition though.
