The campaign is now in Round 4, Turn 4. The 2nd generation VTs are rolling out, and the scent of napalm wafts in the morning breeze. Where are all the DP pilots?
Where now the horse and the rider? Where is the horn that was blowing?
Where is the helm and the hauberk, and the bright hair flowing?
Where is the hand on the harpstring, and the red fire glowing?
Where is the spring and the harvest and the tall corn growing?
They have passed like rain on the mountain, like a wind in the meadow;
The days have gone down in the West behind the hills into shadow.
Who shall gather the smoke of the dead wood burning,
Or behold the flowing years from the Sea returning?

I didn't check anything in the poll because there was no "I own LOC but never play it because there is *way* too much damn lag to deal with, even when it's just 2-on-2."
If you had that option available, I would have checked that.

Ah, the lag factor. Right. Have you received the patch? If you boot up Steel Battalion while connected to Live, you will automatically download the patch that addresses duping and certain connection issues. It might also clear up that lag you've been seeing.
Anyway, I imagine it's at least worth a try.

The patch makes it sound quite appetizing. Lag was indeed the joy-killer.
There needs to be a 'I don't have the apparatus to support that leviathan of a controller but I would play if I had one" poll option.

No, I haven't received the patch yet. Does it actually fix the lag problems? I didn't think Capcom was going to do anything about it. I remember their official response was basically "it's not our fault there is lag, so we aren't going to fix it." x_x
If the problem is fixed though, I'd love to give the game another try. I'm decent in SB, but if you don't mind playing with a LOC newbie, send me an invite (GT: Norkusa)

To be honest, I don't know if it's going to fix your lag. I've played some matches with bad lag since the patch came out, but they seem to be much less frequent, and usually involve transatlantic net traffic, especially with Spain or Italy. Usually matches between U.S., Canada, and the UK run pretty smoothly these days.
Oob with your tuneful eep, let me tell you. Before I began using a dining room chair (with arms) to support the controller, I just set it on my, er, lap. Surely you have such an apparatus?
Cap Nin, the only cure for that kind of laziness is a 205-PT to the bunghole. Did you know that you can get a monthly subscription to Xbox Live for $6/month?
Norkusa, I shall send you a friend request. Or if you log on first, send me one. (GT: Rhindle) Same for you, Oobistar. What is your GT?
So anyway, just turn your Xbox in with SB:LOC in the drive, and if your Xbox is connected to the internet, it should automatically go about downloading and installing the patch. It may be the answer to all your hopes and dreams.

My LoC is still sealed because I don't have Xbox live - playing online wastes way too much time imo :P

Look out, robotriot. You are only a small step away from "playing games wastes too much time". Besides--if you actually go online right now, you may find it n00b unfriendly (with turn 5, the PRF gets Prom M2s). Railguns are a bitch when they're pointed at you. Hence, you may quickly become disgusted with the experience and snap your LOC disc in two, which would save you untold hours of wasted online gaming time.
F'n railguns.
