Just a "heads up" to the peeps who like to collect not only video games but also video game memorabilia:

Wendy's is offering Mario toys with their Kids Meals. You can also pick up the toys for $.99 without the meal. They have things like a plush Mario, a Mario toy with a mushroom parachute, a Mario Kart little game thing, etc.

So it's not as cool as the Goomba with the suction cup on its chin from McDonalds back when SMB3 was a new thing - but it's still worthwhile, especially that parachuting one.

I have most of the old Wendy's Happy Meal Mario Toys....I went across country to get them. From Oregon/California to Oaklahoma and Virginia....

Obsessed? Perhaps. But dedicated obsession

Oh, damn you, don't I live with enough humiliation, without you persuading me to debase myself by buying Happy Meals when I'm 20 years old?

The trading cards and the wind up game are kind of lame, but the Mario Kart toy is pretty cool. It has independent suspension!

I still need to find the plushie and the parachute toy.

Well I went and tried to buy the toys for $.99 like the original poster said, but they told me I had to buy a kids meal (for each one), so of course I left. :o

If anyone can get them for the $.99, would you mind picking me up a set?

That sucks, I dont know why they did that. Well I got most of them expect that mario racing pinball thing because I was short a buck but its not a big deal - I like the Mario parachute and the "double dash" mario kart.

heh heh, I'm 36 and still buy happy meals. although these days with my daughter in tow I can do it under the guise of "It's for her".

actually I found out about this promotion from my daughter. my mother in law bought her a happy meal for lunch and she got the Mario Cart wind up toy. She proceeded to tell her "Grandma Donna, I'm going to give my toy to Dada, he likes Mario".

gotta love her.

I found one of the Kirby toys from Burger King at a Goodwill. It's a game where you flick little pink balls into his mouth. Cost me about 50 cents.

I also have a couple Mario toys from Burger King as well, courtesy of Goodwill. In fact, I'll likely get the Wendy's stuff there if I don't drag myself to a Wendy's soon enough. LOL

Awesome thing happened to me tonight, I was at Wendy's with my friends. I asked the guy for one of the Mario toys, and he was like "Oh you gotta buy a kids meal"...and then I pulled "Oh ya, I heard you guys sell them for 99 cents"....and the kid behind the counter goes "Well....I'll hook you up man, which one you want?" I said "Oh hell ya! gimme the Mario Doll!

Friggin FREE man!! That was the best time I have spent at a Fast Food place! :D

Those Kirby things are all over my damn house. The kids must have picked up 500 of them. I stepped on one last night and kicked that bitch down the basement stairs.

I have the paratropper Mario on my desk here at work.

(BTW, it was a Kirby I kicked, not a kid)

Well I checked out the other Wendy's in my area and was able to get all of the toys except the Mario Kart (not the game one). If someone could be so kind, could they pick me up one...I have an extra Parachute Mario or we could work something else out. Let me know, thanks.

Joystiq reports (http://www.joystiq.com/2007/04/26/mystery-wii-toys-coming-to-wendys-kids-meals/) that Wendy's plans to include Wii toys in Kids meals soon:

(And I still don't have any of the original Wendy's Mario toys, oddly enough.)
