looks pretty cool but It would have been great if they had included Robotron (with a two joystick holder :-P :-P ) and Xevious :-P. Another thing, why did they not include a cartridge slot, that would have been great.

It would have been great if this had included a cartridge slot, but I seriously doubt they would have ever done it.

Someone already mentioned it here:

Which will lead you to the original discussion here:

Jump on in that last thread, fellas. I'm interested to find out what you all think of this thing!

Cartridge slot? Bad idea. Before you grab the pitchforks, think about this - who would the slot be for? Sure, it'd be gret to those of us who HAVE carts for such a device. But Atari's not gonna want to re-enter the cart-production field.

A stand-alone console is great for a game company because you release it and -BLAM - it's done. A console that needs new games and applications is a resource-killer as you need programmers, designers, etc. CONSTANTLY churning out new product to feed the console. And if no one's buying the carts, that's a whole lot of wasted resources. At least if a stand-alone fails, it's done and over.

And since this is being discussed in the two threads above, please begin posting there. Other message boards apparently have 6 or 7 seperate threads on this same subject. :eek 2: I'll lock this one and point y'all to the other threads. Thanks.
