Well I looked all over the place and have came up short with info on how or where to get my disk system fixed. First the belt is broken and so i replaced it with the next best thing a rubber band but all i get is a disk 22 error which means either your disk system needs repair or your disk is bad.

Maybe the rubber band is too tight ? I have know Idea?

Any one know some one that does famicom repairs?

There's some info here (http://disflux.net/thisoldnes/famidisk.shtml), but probably not a lot of help to you.

I KNOW I've seen info on how to fix these, but can't recall where. You might try posting a note on the rec.games.video.classic or rec.games.video.nintendo (?) newsgroups to ask, as the info I saw might have been from there. Search for a FAQ maybe (I tried briefly and didn't find anything useful either).

a rubber band will not work.. I know this, it's to stretchy.. and that stretch effects the speed of the disk in the drive and the speed of the disk has to be 100% constant from start to stop to read tracks correctly.

Anyways I have been to all the easy to find web sites and have found some good info. But nothing that will show or tell how to fix this problem.

Some one needs to create a Faq on the disk drive and famicom system(Hard Task). Also Nintendo of Japan sells belts for the drive still to this day, But I have found nobody doing repairs or any info on av modifications for the famicom system other that the one I own with special rf board.

I might try ordering some Disk Belts from N.O.J as this is more likely my problem.

Don't mind him...things like that breaking are just because of age & technology. My great-grandmother's sewing machine belt broke after 60+ years too.

Any how, do you have a link to the Nintendo Japan store? I'm looking for a replacement famicom power supply. Or do you know an alternative for it?

Can an FDS be hooked up to a US NES v1 (2 doesnt seem to have the expansion slot)?

I think the FDS connect to the Famicon via cart port so you should be using top loading NES and the 60 pin <-> 72 pin adapter. Not sure if it'd do well anyway.

I recommend radio shack. Take your famicom with you and get around a 800 ma or above 12 volt adjustable power supply for around 15.00 dollars that way you can change the polarity from negitive to positive for use on other systems they sell small adapter to fit just about everything.
