OK, Colecovision adam Memory module (looks like the main unit, I guess) Smartwriter (printer) and keyboard (heavy as hell) 1-2 cables, 7 tapes. All dirty/grubby as hell, no idea what works, looks like it could be cleaned up easy enough, but I don't want to.

Basically, is this worth ANYTHING? Does anyone want it? The tapes are all home recorded whatevers Adam tapes.

I could bring it all to NECG next month if anyone wants it, but if I bring it down there, you HAVE to take it. Anyways, lemme know :)

Take it. If you bring it, someone will take it off your hands. If I was going I sure would.

I'll take it if you don't want it. Never look a gift cart in the pins. :D

It's a Super-Colecovision, therefore, much awesome. (If I did my reading right...) the printer always humming (and if it breaks, so does the whole Adam unit) is a negative point, though.

gawd, i saw a boxed adam at a flea this summer. NECG mainstay joe ending up buying it for $45. you could have buried a german shepard in this box, it was frigging huge. its such an albatross of gaming, maybe thats the mark of a great room of doom "i have so much room i can easily have a fully working adam ready to go". last time somebody brought a must-go adam to a trade meet it ended up in the trash truck, although this time i might be foolish enough to bring it inside and feed it some porridge. yeah so at very worst it will get a good home, its probably even to heavy for me to carry down the cellar stairs :P

The actual weight of the complete system isn't bad but it's so bulky in size. I gave in to temptations and transported the insides first then the box with nothing in it. LOL

Well... sure, I want it, but I have a feeling that it would be too much too ship.

Take it, pull the power supply out of the printer and throw the printer away. Now you have a Colecovision that also plays ADAM tapes. Pretty cool!

That is, if you can get the tape drives to work. They are pretty crappy with a high failure rate. I dumped a few Adam sets on a friend when I moved from Seattle.

If you can get a fully tested clean setup together, it's probably worth something. I just never can get them working completely- I've only been through around 4 in my time.

Don't do that, the printer needs to be hooked up to it for the ADAM to operate, or at least mine does. If you throw away the printer, its useless.

well, being big means that shipping must suck. i would pay for shipping and have it sent down here, but i am not sure i am ready to handle a big ass system like that.

That's why you pull the power supply out. So you don't need the printer anymore.

It's the power supply you need, not the printer itself. I'm a "proud" owner of a complete Adam system and I have not done the surgery myself but it is very tempting. I would probably use it in place of a regular Coleco if it wasnt for the damn daisywheel printer, although the printer does work OK.

How do I do this?

Its not hooked up because that darn printer is so big.

There's a good description in this thread over at Atari Age:
