HELP!! Info needed...

You'll notice this sealed KNA has a french sticker on the front and a french game description on the back. I'm puzzled as to why. I would have thought it was a PAL copy, but were PAL versions of this game even released? More importantly, this game was part of the original inventory of a store in the USA, so it makes no sense for US store to be carrying a PAL game. I would have thought it might be a Canadian copy, but Canadian copies are typically bilingual - the stickers here are only in French. My guess is that it might have been a copy created for distribution in Quebec that was sent to the US store when Color Dreams ran out of English copies? Can anyone shed any light here? This game's existence and history make no bleeping sense! If anyone can speak to whether:

1) PAL copies were created
2) copies for the quebec market were created with french labels or bilingual labels
3) anything else!!

..I'd appreciate it much.

Cheers

I had heard that they translated a few of their games to other languages, though I never actually saw them. I know of someone else who has a french version of King Neptune's Adventure. I wonder if the game is actually in French though, like in the screenshot.

I also heard that CD shipped a few titles off to Europe. Hmm.

Did the place you got that from have any more? I would be interested in one, (depending on price of course) if they did have more than one.

sorry, that was the only copy.

Interesting about the translation, thanks for that tidbit. Do you know what other languages? I would have thought french (for canada) and spanish (for southwestern US/mexico). I wouldn't think that a small company like CD would have actually created PAL games. I'm assuming your friend's KNA is ntsc? I don't suppose that you know whether pal copies were created and whether you could also ask him if the game plays in french or english?

None of this explains what the hell this game was doing in the original inventory of a store in the states, mind you. I'm still puzzled about that part :?

Well we're not really friends at all, infact, this dude doesn't like me too much. I'll PM you about it in a bit.

I heard of games such as Captain Comic and Baby Boomer being converted over to PAL. I also heard that Bible Adventures was translated into Spanish (though unreleased) and that Menace Beach was rumored to have been translated into Korean.

Judging by the multi-lingual instruction manuals, one would think that they would have been considering translating this game into many languages.

I got a CD game from the Netherlands once (Metal Fighter) and it had two stickers slapped on with Dutch text. It worked perfectly in my NTSC system. I think they just altered the language of the packaging depending on the country of distribution.

Thanks, and that makes sense. Still don't understand what it was doing in the US but I guess there's no way to figure that one out. :?
