I come home from work yesterday and my wife tells me " I bought something for you." Naturally I'm thinking tube socks, but she pulls out a Sega Genesis with the SegaCD Player and a handful of NES carts. This from the woman who refers to my game collection as "The Junk Pile". When I asked her why, she said she noticed I didn't have the CD "thingy" and wanted to get it for me. Well, someone got a footrub later. Just wanted to share. :D

I can honestly say your wife is not the only one...

I'm a chick who loves to not only buy games for my hubby, but ME. I'm probably the bigger gamer of us two since I've been doing it non stop since I was 4.

That was awfully nice of your wife, and very nice that you appreciate her with a footrub! :)

I wish my GF bought me games out of the blue. She plays them though, so I shouldn't complain :)

If my wife knew I did not have a sege CD thingy, I would faint. But my wife is pretty cool. She likes going to fleas and thrift stores and she knows what I am looking for. And points out any "video game looking thingy" to me.

I couldn't imagine my girl noticing what I don't have (that goes for any of the collectors out there...). That's very observant of her! Sweet find...the wife, I mean!

I love my wife.

I love your wife too. :D

(Oh come on! SOMEBODY was gonna say it! LOL )

Actually, my wife is a good 'un too. I taught her a simple axiom: "When at the thrift store, always look in boxes and always look for wood-grain tucked in the "appliance" aisle." She has actually stumbled across several Atari systems and, once, she found a box FILLED with loose 2600 carts that *I* had walked right past! x_x I bought her dinner that night. (She don't like the "footrub thing." :D )

That is just eerie. My wife just, four days ago, surprised me and bought a Sega CD and a CD-i system and I literally rubbed both feet for an hour to thank her. Because, like your wife, she usually isn't encouraging of me bringing home more game machines that will take up even more space - I was shocked.

There must be something in the air - people, this must be that very small window in the year where wives universally accept games into their homes. Take advantage of it now. ;)

That is true, because most girls hate video games. (well, at least the ones I know)

That's awesome! I can't believe she noticed that you didn't have the CD thingy!
My girlfriends luckily loves to go game shopping with me every weekend, or any other time I go where there are electronics and games. She always buys me at least a game or a dvd each week.

She gat it at a thrift store, it cost her 15 bucks. She picked up Yo! Noid, Palamedes, and Some big bird game. The rest the place had were SMB carts.

Sheesh- I have to give my wife footrubs because she wants me to, not as a reward.

She's fully aware of my gaming madness, however, & has brought home unsolicited purchases for me in the past.
