It appears that 4 of the 8 NES Classic GBA carts have been lowered to $14.99. I've seen Pac-Man, Xevious, Bomberman & Ice Climber at the lower price over the last few days at Toys R Us, EB & Gamestop.
Now if only one of the major chains would have them on sale for $9.99 on week I might have to pick them up. ;)

I'm with Avenger. I only have a 64mb flash card I got off Keir, and it still holds more than enough roms. Besides, I DO own the carts, so it IS legal (right?)
When it comes down to buying either Mario Golf Advance Tour, or NES Pacman, bomberman, or Ice climber, all priced at $20, it's not a choice, it's just stupid.

I wonder if everywhere they are going to be cheaper or just those stores?
I bought all 8 of them the week they were released.
Everyone ready for the next 4 to be released in October. I think this batch of games is better than the first 8.

Ever think maybe he's a Collector? I had planned on getting all 8. But I settled for SMB and Zelda. I'll wait on the rest. Nice to see the price ahs dropped. Usually GB games don't drop too fast.

Yes, I am a collector, and my biggest "thing" in collecting is definately the NES. It is my fav. system! And I don't consider them old nes games. And it wasn't 200 I spent it was 160. But actually it wasn't even that, I did manage to get the Circuit City deal ($14.99) for about 2 or 3 of them the week they were released.
But if you think that is crazy (Spending that much), I am about to have doubles of all 8. This is because the first 8 I bought was for my sealed games collection. And I don't want to hear from anyone on hear saying something bad against collecting sealed games (it always seems to happen). Then I have been going to the game store and buying used copies of them so I could have some to play with as well.

That's exactly what I am, a collector. I am also pretty sure that I heard Nintendo will discontinue the first classic series when the second is released, and then so on if they decide to release more. So I made sure to snatch them up right away, but that's besides the point of me just having to own them all.
It is VERY nice to see GBA games drop in price so fast. That is one thing I DO NOT understand. Why GC games drop so fast, but GBA games NEVER do and if they do it's only by like 5 or so???

Because GB games have a longer lifespan than other consoles. Every GB has been backwards compatible. Meaning I can still play the original Tetris on my new GBA. Sad though. There are a lot of older pre-GBA games I will not spend the $12-15 they want for them.

That makes sense! But yeah, there are some games that I want BADLY that I won't spend the 20-30 stores are still asking. I will spend $50 on a brand new gamecube game on release day that I really want, no problem with that, but other than the ALL the Mario Bros. games that have been released for the GBA (I have bought every single one of them from Mario Advance 1 to M+L:Superstar Saga on the day of their release), I can't spend the high amount on GBA games for some reason. Even though there is a hell of alot of good games, I just can't spend those high prices on most of the GBA games.

No offense dude, but if you apply the simple rules of commercialism to your purchases, you would realize that it's "release day" buyers that ruin it for the rest of us. It's not a hard concept to comprehend, if you don't pay that much for it, the price will drop until you do pay for it.
..::EDIT::.. Plus these will be categorized and collected as GameBoy software, not NES.

..::EDIT::.. Plus these will be categorized and collected as GameBoy software, not NES.BUT they are ports of NES games. So it is logical he would collect them. I mean, even if I only collected NES games, I would still go after anything having to do with the console I love. Old Nintendo signage. Posters for NES games, old style Mario stuff, NES ports of games on other systems.

Speaking of which, I have the old 5 Foot long clear plexiglass with the Nintendo Logo on it that Toys R Us used to have in their old display cases (SOmeone TRU may still hav eit). I was on a team that remodeled the Toys R Us' from the Aisles into the big roundish junk room look they use now, and always disassembled the cases....Just for those signs.

Yeah my local TRU still has the "WORLD OF NINTENDO" plexiglass...I'd love to get my paws on that one.

I'm sad I totally missed out, read: got sniped, on a ubercool "World of Nintendo" sign back last year. I REALLY WANTED THAT! It was so damn cool. And this asshat sniped my bid at the last minute. Mother cuddling bastard.
BTW, I checked the price on the games at my Kmart. They are indeed $14.99 now.

I see what you are saying, but you didn't put any thought into it or do not understand the concept. For one, I doubt you would find anyone else on these boards that would say I ruin things by buying a game on release day. From now until last September or so, I have bought 22 GC games on release day, and 10 GBA games on release day. If nobody bought games when they were full price, that company would therefore lose money and not make that game anymore. I mean what I am trying to say is, that if everybody did not buy a GBA classic game until now, I GUARANTEE you that Nintendo would not have this second bunch of classic games coming out in October. They are not going to put something out that noone show interest in.
SO what your saying is that you want everyone not to buy games on release day, just so they go down in price? If everyone did that game companys would go broke and it would be pointless to make games unless you were a big company, there would be no profit if companys needed to sell that $50 game, and only got 14.99-24.99 for it.
Now don't get me wrong, I like a good deal as much as the next guy, but there are certain games I just HAVE to have on release day. (Hense that's why I spent $1000+ on Gamecube games alone on release day and that's not counting any other that I bought)
And Officially, the GBA Classic series would be categorized under GB stuff, but to me it's NES!

I couldn't have put it any better Jasoco! That's exactly it! I mean I collect everything Nintendo, but when it comes to the NES I NEED EVERY DAMN THING!! From the cereal they put out to the tube socks that are out. EVERYTHING!

Hey Jasoco, I forgot to ask which "WORLD OF NINTENDO" sign you were looking for. I know there is a few wood signs and a couple light up ones. I lucked out last year and on ebay won in my opinion the best WORLD OF NINTENDO sign there is. Its the big square one that says WORLD OF NINTENDO in big letter and it's double sided. It's fiberoptic one that lights up, VERY cool. I think they usually go for like 200+ (At least the few I have seen) and tried out a seller with only 1 feedback rating and luckily everything was perfect. Received it with no problems and love it.
Oh yeah, by the way I paid $100 for it. Definatley worth it! I just wish I had more money for a Virtual Boy, SNES, N64, etc. fiberoptic lightup sign!

It was a big gold round "World" with "Nintendo" across it like they used to have in authorized Nintendo retailers back in the day. It would hang from the ceiling. I don't remember if I saved the image like I do with every other thing I come across and if I did, what it is even named. But it was damned cool. It was at $45 when I got sniped. Who knows what he bid. If eBay were a big room, I'd have bopped him in the nose.

That's funny! ANyways, I know EXACTLY what sign you are talking about. $45 wouldn't have been a good deal for it, but like you said, who knows what the other guy bid on it? I too hope to get one of those signs someday, but who knows when.

I don't even have a GBA SP yet, but I'm sure that will change now that the price is down to $80.00, and will probably drop even more as the DS's release draws closer.
Anyway I never bought the first run of Classics cause I have all the ones I want for the NES anyway, and I really don't care to play them on the go. Plus I don't feel like paying $14.99 for an exact port of Zelda or SMB, maybe if they were done in "advence" form that would be cool.
What Nintendo needs to do is make a Japanese classics line or something like that and release all the great games that never made it stateside, like FF II, III

they are doin at with FFII and FFIII....wat they should have done with the classics was put them all on one cart and sold them for the regular price

I haven't seen one since. Hopefully the next time I do, I'll have a bigger disposable income so I can go a bit higher. If I had to get rid of a whole lot of my games, I'd keep my Nintendo stuff. And that would be the centerpiece. I can only imagine how cool it would have looked in front of my window. (When the blinds were open, people outside could see it and wonder "What is in there??")
I've been trying to get over it by looking into getting some other Nintendo signage. Light-up, non light-up, etc. But none compare to the one I once almost had.
I hope the bastards out there somewhere enjoying it.

Yeah, you could always get another sign, but it's NOT the one that you really wanted. Nothing would beat that. I lucked out and managed to find the one I wanted for a decent price that worked 100%. I myself like lighted up signs more, but the one you want is cool too! Definately want to find myself one sometime.

Yep. There is a complete list of CC markdowns floating around the 'net that started this week. Nothing like the $4.99 clearance they had a few months ago but lots of $10-15 games. The GBA games are what I was mostly interested in though.
