Does Live let you set a password on your account?

My xbox has a mod chip, but I have a switch installed so that I can disable the chip and play on live.

However Im worried that one day while im at work, my son will be poking around with my games and attempt to go online with the chip enabled. Thus the chance that my box will get banned.

Does Live offer a password protection so that only I can use the online functions of live?

Thanks.

yes it does....you can set it we you set up your account, or edit it later in account options.

For the love of god, man, never EVER forget to flip that switch! Forget it once and you're banned for life! Man I don't think I could handle that kind of responsibility.

LOL, I know. It is the reason I didn't get Live yet... I can't leave the switch on all the time either because the little man likes to play MAME and the SNES emulators. (Mostly the power ranger and spiderman games on the snes)

Udisi, is the password prompted for before you attemot to connect or after??

I can field that one. The password is needed only to change settings within live. Whenever you connect to a game through Live, you can usually just choose your account and go. Some of the games that rank you, like NFL Fever can allow you to have a password for your account on that game, so that people won't be ruining your ranking. Otherwise you just link right up.

speaking of Xbox mod development, http://www.xboxhacker.net is probably the best place to go for people who are having moral dillemmas with Mod chips. This is probably the purest, most honest-to-goodness xbox hacking site out there. It is also one of the first.

Not only dothey keep you up to date on recent linux ports, media players and other technical tidbits, They are even keeping people abreast of progress being made using Original Libraries, so that even the information used for making homebrews is legal. Something we often forget is that the software used to make software is also licensed and copyrighted, and these people are even working to stop that obscure form of piracy. In fact, the first example of totally legitimate, completely open source code developed with completely open source software using completely open source libraries was just recently completed. This is the kind of work I like to see done, and in a few years it's going to lead to a lot of Homebrew software that will make even the hardest xbox basher go doe-eyed with homebrew tears of joy.
