I don't know about the bigger cities, but the one in SC blew terribly. It was over priced first of all. The website said 9, then they bumped it up to 12. The Unreal tournament only last 5 minutes (same with the Conker: Live and Reloaded, and NFL tourneys) and they were only the bare minimum of frag limits. The people who were running it left their plasma TVs on for about 11 hours so when you played on them it was a bit laggy. A few of the games were stuck (I.E the star wars battlefront controller was stuck pointing right the whole night, Red Ninja was stuck in a menu most of the night) and no one would fix them. It was kinda fun to play Halo with some new people, but no one would give up their spots so others could play. After you qualified for the tourney you couldn't play anymore, so I only got to play one round of Halo. On better notes Doom 3 was kick ass, Conker did look cool (didn't get to play it though), and the Halo tourney was not too bad. It was to 15 I think, which is much too short, but still fun to play. After the Halo tourney they literally shut the place down. I was about to start playin Farcry and they kicked me out. I appreciated the rudeness the blockbuster reps got to show to EVERYONE. I played Halo after the qualifications rounds were finally over and we were in the middle of a game and one of them stopped our game and said he wanted to play a real man's game, so he started a CTF. Of course my team kicked his ass for booting our game (3 to 0), but I still wanted to knock his teeth out.
Overall I have to say this about GameRiot. Unless you live in a big city don't go. Unless of course you REALLY REALLY REALLY wanna go and wanna be cheated out of your money.

Thankfully I didn't succumb to Bryant trying to get me to go with you guys. I think I had a better time going home after work and getting some sleep.

It looked a little weak to me, but had I known Star Wars Battlefront was going to be there, I'd have shown up for sure. Beats the lame-ass local metal shit Ground Zero is best known for though.

Yeah well...some of the Ground Zero "regulars" ended up showing up and dancing their smelly asses in front of the stage.

However, my opinion on the content of the event is a bit in the middle between "it sucked" and "great".

It was pretty disappointed how they only chose six people to come up on the stage to play Conker. What about the people who just wanted to play it for fun times? Ain't they noagas?

I had to sit beside this mega fatty when I was playing Battlefield Vietnam and i could barely move with the w,a,s,d keys.

Regardless, I kicked ass in Battlefield Vietnam. I kicked the strawhatwearing guys from hell and hell..i mean vietnam. dudeyourafag. shut up...shut up you.

I mean if you ain't got a hoobert in the tree, then where it be?

I'm giving this a bump since one of the local alternative newsweeklies just did an article about the 2005 GameRiot tour's stop in Portland, OR. I didn't attend, and from what I'm reading here, it looks like I didn't miss out on anything. Anyways, this is well worth a read:
