Has anyone played this game yet? I was actually planning to buy this because I used to enjoy the 2 games on the Genesis but after playing a Demo of this game in an X-box Disc I quickly changed my view on this game. I was really turned off by the Ebonics used in this game I do know Toe-Jam and earl are supposed to be hip Funksters from funk-O-Tron but The voice acting in this is so bad and so geared toward an Afro-Centric hip hop Community I just did not enjoy it Does anyone Else Feel the same?

Thanks

Nope.

Corny voice acting alone will never be enough to steer me away from a game that plays well.

If anything, it only makes me like a game even more. :D

Gimme the weekend on this. I bought the game used on Thursday and haven't tried it out yet. I loved what I played at E3 though (though I couldn't hear much).

To be continued.

I have played the 2 player mode and the camera makes it tough to see. I need to try the 1 player mode. As for the VO, It's not offensive.

Have you seen one of the items in this game? The high top gym shoes they make you jump higher? Hummm does that mean if I buy some high top gym shoes and Im a black Man I can jump higher?
why did they have to name the female in this game LATISHA?

Thanks

They are the same items that where in the first game. The spring shoes make you jump higher and the high tops make you run faster. It's gameplay mechanics.

I don't think black has anything to do with it. Toe Jam and Earl aren't black. There are people that like rap and funk of every race. Their entire planet is based on Funk.

I can't tell you why they named the female character Latisha, but I don't find it offensive.

*Carefully treads through the minefiedl*

I haven't played the game since E3, but I can tell you that the first one was more wonky than funky and I think that's why people liked it. Insincerity, in any form, be it forced catchphrases or unintentional parodies, will always leave a bad taste in peoples mouths. You can see this in multiple failed after-school Saved-By-The-Bell "The More you Know..." Public Service piles of Yak Vomit every day. The original TJ&E wasn't about poorly mimicking stereotypes, it was about a wacky style. What they should have done is kept TJ&E in a late 80's time warp, unable to keep up with trends (ala Austin Powers) and made them parodies of themselves more than anything else. I really can't say for sure, maybe that's what they are in the game, but the introduction of Latisha makes me grimace.
