If it's as MINT as he says it is, it could be worth that. I have been loking for a MINT copy as well for a long time, hell, even a good condition one for a good price I would take too.
But he is right, I was there bidding on that one that went for $1025. I was putting in my bid with about 30 seconds left and bam, the fucking price went in the thousands.
I have seen good condition ones on ebay go for around $70. Good price I guess.

Yep, the auction is LONG GONE! It was about 2 years ago, or close to it.
The link for ebay auction don't work anymore after 3 months. I think that's what it is.
For a PERFECT mint copy of Fun Club #1, I probably would pay $200, but no higher. I need this to complete my NP collection. I mean that's not the only one I need, but have to find one someday.

Possibly, but really have no clue. I do know what issues you are talking about, but there definately no where NEAR as popular as the fun club or NP issues.
But who knows?

Well it was a scan of the item and scanners do some funny things from time to time, it may look a good bit better than those pictures in the auction make it out to be, but Mint vs Good, I'm not that anal over details. I use to collect Nintendo Power & I had the last 3 issues of Fun club news which are way more common I know, but I've seen auctions pass with the full set of FCN for around $250 or so, I thought that was high! At the time, I was looking for the earlier ones, I believe I saw the 1st one go in the $60-75 range by itself once. Was more than I wanted to spend, but $500 is insane. @_@ I'm afraid to think about how much the old Activision fan mags & Imagic numb thumbs fetch nowadays... Those currently ARE on my want list. :|

I am amazed there aren't dozens of copies of this thing on eBay every month. How hard could it be to duplicate this. It would just take someone with a buddy at Kinkos.

oh my god...my nomination for idiot of the year is:

Hell yes, 500 is alot for this, but doesn't make them an idiot. Espcially if you have the money for it. I know I would pay any amount of money I had for something, espcailly if I REALLY wanted it, or needed it.

I'd pay 5$ for a copy! I love the articles!
