A few days ago I received a package in the mail containing a Sega Genesis dev unit...not an official licensed unit, but the parts to an unlicensed company's dev kit.

Anyway, what I got was two B&C Microsystems, Inc. rom emulators.

They came with a few cables which connect from the front of the emulators, to the sockets on a Sega Genesis dev cart. (Check picture below)

Now you see, there is only one problem with this stuff. First off, I haven't a clue how to use it. Secondly, I am missing a few things. I need some parallel port cables (easy enough to buy), a mysterious power supply (need to do some research to determine what is used...), and a third item of sorts. The second picture, the port under the serial number, anyone know what might go in there?

Anyway, this was my cool little find. I took some better pictures, I just need to get them developed. These pictures are just quick scanner jobbies.

cool find but i don't know about that port, it's not very sharp on the pic, maybe you could take a pic of the port only...

I can't get a much clearer scan with my scanner...sorry. I took some pictures, but they need to be developed.

As far as dev kits go, can't one use a genesis copier as a dev kit?

Good obervation. Hehe, you would be the expert my friend LOL

But seriously though, there was some tape stuck around there to keep things from getting messed up while in the mail. I just didn't bother removing it, since I don't have all the parts to try this beast.

doesnt look like a port to me.
i guess these are jumpers to set various stuff.
you'd have to open it up to be sure, though.
if one row of pins goes to GND and the corresponding pins
of the other row are tied to VCC via resistors, it would be safe to assume these are jumpers.

Yeah, in the pic they are labelled j1-19, so they must be jumpers.

Damn nice score, man.
