Philosoma -- Anybody beaten it?

I just fired up my Philosoma the other night, because Galaga: Destination Earth reminded me of it, with its shifting perspective shooter motif.

Philosoma is certainly ambitious. And I understand that it's not necessarily everybody's cup of tea. But since I only haul it out every few months, I haven't made any serious progress in it. Has anybody here conquered Philosoma?

Incidentally, just how retro are nine-year old games?

Also, I must point out that I rather like the graphics in Philosoma, even today. At any rate, it looks a hell of a lot better than Galaga: Destination Earth.

I haven't done it myself, but I witnessed my friend Chris finish it sometime in '96. It had a pretty cool ending, from what I remember.

There are actually three endings for the game, one for each difficulty. And yes, I've gotten all three. 8-) Philosoma is one of my favorite sh'm'ups, and I wish SONY would make a sequel.
