I have a feeling I'll be buying some of these 10 years from now. Getting into the console game scene a few generations late has its benefits! LOL

Boy am I glad I have a job... I don't have the time to let video games consume that much of my time or money... then again, I'm probably twice your age.

My current 5 star want list

GTA: San Andreas (when it's available for PC)
Sims 2 (mostly for my wife)
Second Sight

and Donkey Konga has my interest too for the GC.

My "this fall" wantlist:

Metal Slug Advance GBA
Donkey Konga GC
Gradius V PS2
King of Fighters: MI PS2

There are some others, too, but those four are definites.

Oh, I do have a nicely long list of games awaiting my money... Donkey Konga and KOTOR (Mac version) are first on my list... and I have to get Karaoke Revolution 3 (probably will need to import from the US, as vol. 2 wasn't released in Canada), Gradius V, Final Fantasy I+II Advance (yup, I do have the PSX version, but FF on the go is fun!), and Zelda: Minish Cap (again, on the go is very important to me). And maybe Mario Pinball Land, as I love pinball games.

For my boyfriend (who isn't a gamer), 2 upcoming Mac titles for him: SimCity 4: Rush Hour and Railroad Tycoon 3.

On top of a good majority of those games, I also have the DS to worry about. Assuming it comes out this year, of course, and god dammit it better.

Well, there are a LOT of good games on there, but the only games that really strike me as a MUST HAVE BEFORE PRICE DROP is Donkey Konga. That and GTA:SA but only when it comes out on PC.

Everything else can wait till the 9.99-19.99 mark for me.

I've got hundreds of games to play in my backlog till then anyways. ;)

My must-haves are:

Final Fantasy I - II Advance GBA
Metroid Prime 2 Echoes GCN
Donkey Konga GCN
Gran Turismo 4 PS2
Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door GCN

I'm not very excited about the new GTA for some reason. It just seems like the same ol' stuff with different scenery and a few small additional features that I don't care about. Maybe my opinion will change once I actually play it, who knows.

I actually just picked up Gradius V, Guilty Gear X2 #Reload, and Guardian Heroes Advance today. Ugh, wallet under too... much... stress...

Interestingly enough, my GameStop (and I hate them) isn't reserving Katamari Damashi. They couldn't tell me if demand outpaced supply or not.

Addtionally, I thought that Guardian Heroes on the 14th was a dirty lie, but I have it in my hands so it really did make it out. I'm getting the shakes for my GBA...

My list...

Pirates!

Been waiting for a good new release for around 13 years.

You and me both. I can't wait for this game to come out - an update to my favorite game of all time.

I also am dying to get my hands on GTA: SA and Gran Turismo 4, no matter how much people around here hate them.

I remember when my must have list used to be that long all the time, but that was back in the day when they still made games for Genesis, Sega CD, 32X, Saturn, SNES, Game Gear, Virtual Boy, & 3DO. So I'm glad that I only have to worry about the occaisional PS release now and then, and maybe a new Jag or Jag CD game, and wishing there were more Dreamcast games.

I've managed to avoid getting all caught up in the whole PS2/XBOX/GC thing so far, but eventually I will be getting a PS2, if I don't hold out for a PS3 in the hope that it will be backward compatible with PS1 & PS2 when it arrives. I'd like to have an XBOX also, but IMO the GC is a waste of time, and good old Nintendo might as well pull a Sega and just make games from now on.

So my must have list consists of mostly PC games this year, just as it has for the last few years. And the floodgates are about to open, so I'm just waiting for all the PC games that I've been reading about for the last 6 months, and drooling over their screenshots while I wait for another bone to get thrown.

My want list, in order of importance:

Roller Coaster Tycoon 3
Lightning Wheels (online DL)
GTR
Juiced
Flat Out
Test Drive: Eve of Destruction
Track Mania
Xpand Rally
Hot Wheels: Stunt Track Challenge
18 Wheels: Pedal to the Metal
Rig 'N' Roll
No Brakes 4X4
MTX Moto Trax
Heroes of the Pacific
Pacific Fighters
Wings of Honor
Wings of War
Axis & Allies RTS

That's all that I'm absolutely sure of right now, but I'm sure there'll be more. So far, Track Mania is the only one on my list that's out right now, but it's a $30 game and I'm debating if I should get it now or wait and see if the price goes down a bit before Christmas. I keep hoping that it will go on sale soon.

Most of those games are only $20 budget titles, which is mostly all I buy, but some of them are gonna be as much as $40 or $50, so I've still got alot of saving and sale watching to do before Christmas, and some very important decisions to make about which ones I should wait until after the first of the year for. Those expensive titles usually end up being in the bargain bins after only 6 months or less, so not much point in paying top dollar to get it right away when it's gonna be priced like a budget title in just a few more months.

I'm not waiting for RCT 3 though. I'm getting that one on the day it comes out. I have a rule, no waiting for any new coaster sims, whatsoever. In fact, I probably should go on ahead and preorder a copy soon, so I can make sure that I don't end up having to wait for that one. It's gonna be a real big seller.

omg dude, that's alot of games

for me:
castlevania gba

maybe metal slug gba

midway 2 for gamecube. and paper mario, maaaybe metroid2 (i dunno, didn't care for prime too much)

if i had a ps2 i'd want gradius2, street fighter collection, sly2.

i'll only end up buying 2 of those all together.

why do you want metroid classic? just buy zero mission and beat it (in 3-4hours), it already has metroid on it as an unlockable.

This sounds like me last Oct-Jan of '03-'04. I had reserved if I remember right about 12-15 GC games and about 5-8 GBA. All those Release day buys cost me $$$$. But I still couldn't pry myself away from ebay!!!! I was and am still ADDICTED. They still have all the "classic" games I look for and buy.

Reason why I still want Metroid for GBA is that it's quite nostalgic for me. Outside of the PC, it was the first game I ever "beat" and had a proper ending. Thus, I'll take it, even in a rehashed format.

Ironically enough, I don't want the NES Classics release of Dr. Mario because it's there in it's full glory as Dr. Wario in Wario Ware as an unlockable. And I do play it fairly often (only at the hardest, fastest setting though, I've taken it to level 37 before).

And we're all still looking for 'classic' games, and I'll still be on the hunt. I still need Colors of Modern Rock for Sega CD and I'll drop money for that in a heartbeat if I can get it for a semi-reasonable price. It's just that the 'next gen' systems have all of my 'planned' gaming dollar for some time to come. I'm also taking a grand with me to the Super Auctions in Kansas City with a friend and hope to come home with a MVS cabinet and an air hockey table (crosses fingers).

On a side note, I'm headed out to get Fable and Sly 2 on Friday.

As far as renting games go, I don't rent anything. DVDs, games, whatever. If I'm putting down money, even menial amounts, I want to own it. As far as stealing games go, you can have it, I'm done dealing with backups and downloads.

I'm waiting on the Street Fighter Collection for the XBox to take it online (finally). Midway Classics 2 is another one I've recently put on my get list.

For those of you who care, Guardian Heroes Advance, does in fact, rock the house! It's not as good as the Saturn in my humble opinion, but it fits the bill quite nicely (though slowdown is a problem, it's not nearly as bad as IGN makes it out to be).

And, finally, the GCN is one of my favorite systems in terms of first party titles. If you haven't experienced the joy of Metroid Prime, Super Smash Brothers Melee, or the godsend that is The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker, then you can't call yourself a gamer (IMO, of course).

Kinda odd how so many of the games listed in this thread are just sequels or rehashes.

The only current things I really have my eye on are that PC 5-Pack Action Games bundle (Myth II, Oni, Serious Sam, and two others), and that new Vault of Darkness bundle that recently showed up (American McGee's Alice, Dungeon Keeper 2, two of the Dracula games, and one other). And they would have to come down pretty far in price in order to justify adding them to the collection of games I haven't gotten around to playing yet. (I've been finding a lot of high-quality "shovelware" lately.)
