So, I had a little free time last night and broke out Vib Ribbon, along with a stack of CDs. As anyone who's experimented with this before knows, some songs can make for VERY boring courses, while others can generate impossible ones. Further, some can get the obstacles to start rotating around the axis that Vibri walks along. Sweet! Now, I'm wondering what songs have given you the best and most unique results. I'm interested in songs that create playable but unique and challenging courses. So far, here are three enjoyable courses that I've run through:

Idioteque - Radiohead
Shine on you Crazy Diamond - Pink Floyd (long long song, good for endurance)
Uno - Muse

Also, does anyone know the exact quality that creates the rotating obstacles? Can certain recordings actually get them to do other tricks?

This is the best damn CD for Vib Ribbon, I swear. Almost every track generates a level that fits the music perfectly.

Quick question, it's been a while since I played this game, but I remember for that every CD I tried, the first track was ignored and not accessible. How do you solve this problem?

As for good CDs, I haven't tried too many, but I thought "Step One" by Steps worked pretty well (kind of ABBA-esque). I'm looking forward to trying out "Playboy & Playgirl" by Pizzicato 5; it's one of my favorites and I have a feeling it would work very well.

So, how does Vib Ribbon determine when to put a loop, or a pit, or a tower or whatnot? What parts of songs determine what? I would love to import this one day. Sometime down the road when I have disposable income and can afford to just buy it.

I never had that problem, but I play on a Japanese PS2. Modded system I'm guessing? Still, that's pretty weird. No matter what the mod on your system is it should either work with every track or no track. Maybe it's ignoring the first track as if it's a game CD with redbook audio.

My PS1 does the same thing, except that it only does it with some cds. I just assume that my laser is dying on my PS1 so it's having trouble reading music.

Sadly, I've never been able to play other cds with my copy of Vib Ribbon. I just assumed it was my ineptitude and inablitity to decipher the directions correctly, but Shingo found out for me that it's actually the fault of the mod chip in my PS1, which will not allow me to swap out cds. So, I feel a little better about myself, at least :)
