I remember seeing an ad, in an old video game magazine(can't recall which one)f from the Nintendo 64 era. I believe it was some sort of a contest, and you win a Nintendo 64 controller that was shaped like a boomerang. Does anyone have one of these.

It looked funky, and seemed like it would be uncomfortable if you were use to using the standard ones.

Thanks.

I have a boomerang shaped controller made by Interact called a Barracuda. (For the PSX) Could they have made an N64 version and maybe that could be it?

Could it be possible for you to post a pic of your controller?

And, I believe the magazine was EGM.

I think the donkey kong controller you're talking about is the limited edition one given away by nintendo power around the time of DK64's release, It was yellow and had (hm, cant find the words) banana..lines? on it. It was essentially a regular N64 controller, but the three "prongs" were made to look like bananas.

Yellow controller with a circular DK logo in the centre (DK64 maybe?) and the tips of the prongs had brown ends on them like the ends of bananas. Nothing too remarkable really. I believe it also came in a boxed set with a jungle-green N64, a memory expansion, and a copy of Donkey Kong 64.

It looks awkward to hold.

It looks awkward to hold.

I personally can't imagine any controller feeling more awkward to hold than the original N64 joypad, so for my money anything would be a marked improvement. If I came across one of those in the wild, I might actually plug in my N64 and play something. After I dig it out of the dust covered storage tub where it deservedly sits ignored and forgotten (I'm not a fan of the console).

That controller has carpal tunnel written all over it.
