I was very jealous of Xbox owners who were getting this treat, because I only recently learned that PS2 is also getting a release! I've always loved arcade-style racers that were done with flair (I've followed the Ridge Racer series religiously--with 5 however, I think I need a new deity.)
How do other people feel about Outrun 2? I don't think it's going ot set the world on fire, but I think it's gonna be the type of game you actually play a year or more after you bought it. What's yer opinion?

I'll never get my true release of "Turbo Outrun"...but this will do.
Actually, Outrun 2 is probably the only game for the current generation that i would even consider buying.

I'm a huge fan of the Ridge Racer and for that matter Outrun series. Ridge Racer is dead - ever since RRR it has lost the instant pick-up-and-play appeal, though the subsequent games were pretty fun - I wouldn't call them arcade racers. Outrun 2 looks like a blast - I know it won't sell well, but to those who remember playing it in the arcades all those years ago - it will be welcomed warmly.
This is what I want from SEGA. Now all I need is a lavish 2D Alex Kidd sequel. :-P

I played it in the arcade a couple of times and thought it was a blast. Since my Xbox is collecting dust right now, I probably wouldn't mind picking up the Xbox version sometime down the road. Has this game come out already, or is it still not out yet?

I wanna get this game as I loved it in the arcade and it's prequels.
Does anyone know it's NA release date off hand?

I can't wait to get my hands on this. I hope it has Outrunners as an unlockable.

Outrun 2 is just the sort of game I wanna see. It's a REAL videogame, instant thrills and all. I don't want computer geeks trying to make bad summer movies; I want arcade games.
Sega has been steadily building a large collection of great titles for XBox. It's become the new Dreamcast.
Aw, hell, just bring back the Dreamcast, which had the best games anyway. Bring back the console wars!

I just recently saw the Outrun 2 arcade machine for the first time and I was impressed. This is another one I'd love to get...

Can I get an amen? AMEN!!!
Can I get a halleluja? HALLELUJA!
Right on, man. You just represented 4 years of my sentiments towards the video game industry with one post!

Outrun is my favorite arcade racer of all time. I'm glad to hear it's also coming out for PS2, cause up untill I heard that I was planning on buying an Xbox so I could play it. I'll still get an Xbox, but not for a while now.

Has a MSRP been released for this? I expect it to be in the 29.99-39.99 range. I want it SO BAD but can't afford it now, not after next week when I pick up Star Wars Trilogy on DVD. :(

As an added bonus, I think the Daytona 2 tracks will be included as well, which just bumped the game a little more up my "Must-Buy" list.

I actually got to play this beauty in the arcades... I chose Magical Sound Shower for the music and the Testarossa for the car, naturally. It was just like old times... only now, the graphics have become utterly beautified. It was like playing Gran Tourismo at first, but the mechanics became rather familiar to me quickly, and I felt right at home. It was beautiful... though, I lost against my dad when we raced. >_<

Glad to hear such good reviews on O2 :) Though I enjoyed the other Outrun sequels, none of them felt quite the same as the original classic. Between O2 and Burnout 3, it looks to be a good season for arcade racers.
btw - - is there any word of the original being included on the disc?
