i remember one guy saying to me once he had an EXTREMELY RARE copy of a game called Mario War for snes, seeing how this was never an SNES game, what is the game about? was it ever available on any system?

there is a Homebrew game for xbox called "Super Mario War" if that clears anythink up?

Mario War is a ROM hack. You essentially have Mario running around on the bottom of the screen shooting Bullet Bills up at a bunch of bouncing floppy disks. Sounds like "BOOM SHAKALAKA" and "UUUUP" and junk like that punctuate your power-up accruals. It gets pretty boring after about 20 seconds.
