Hi all,

I very recently got an XBOX, and was just wondering, does a Mod chip, cause any problems with the XBOX live, from what i have gathered, you need to have an "Original" XBOX live title, to go and play online which is cool.

Has anybody heard or know of, any problems the MOD chip may (or may not) cause with the XBOX Live system?? ;)

using a mod chip will get you banned from xbox live.

you have to have a switch installed that switches it back to "normal" i.e. turns the mod chip off and makes everything look kosher.

my modded xbox has a switch. power it up like regular to go into regular mode, press and hold down the power button for a sec to go into romz mode.

but i got another xbox (halo edition) to play on live anyways.

I'll just drop my stupid question here: Can I play a Xbox PAL Live game with say, Japanese and US guys? Can I go Live in Europe/Finland with US XBox?

Can I go Live in Europe/Finland with US XBox?

This was a question that was stumping me for some time (except in regards to Live in Japan w/ a U.S. Xbox). I called Microsoft, posted on the Xbox-Scene forums, and got nothing. Finally found my answer on a Japanese message board. You can use your U.S. Xbox to go Live in another country (using Region 1 games of course), however .... at least in Japan you need to purchase a new subscription "code" (your U.S. purchased "code" won't work over there for whatever reason). There you go. Believe me, it took a long time to figure that crap out.

Edit: And to answer your other question, you can definitely play for instance your PAL Rainbow Six 3 with your buddies online playing their NTSC Rainbox Six 3.
